Digital Spy is reporting that Robbie Williams -- who has voiced songs in films like "Finding Nemo" -- is in line to join Zachary Quinto, as the new Kirk. Quinto was confirmed earlier this week as the new Spock, ending weeks of speculation.
Williams has a very limited acting resume, most recently providing the voice of Doogal in "The Magic Roundabout." His work was so popular that he has had several offers since then to continue his acting career, but apparently nothing has suited his fancy until "Star Trek XI" came along.
If Williams does get cast, this would be the second actor over 30 that J.J. Abrams is bringing into the film, despite a previous report of Matt Damon who claimed the director was looking for actors in their early 20s. Williams turned 33 last February. :spidey (http://arabic.cnn.com/2002/entertainment/11/15/mtv.awards/robbie.williams.story.jpg.jpg)
"I'd think he'd be quite a good Capt. Kirk," Abrams said of Williams. "The Kirk in my movie is quite young, it's the early years."
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by anyone even resembling to be someone official, so treat this as you would any other rumor
Heard this rumor too. HIGHLY doubtful of it. Isn't he mainly a singer?
Interesting rumor to say the least. If they were going with someone over 30, I would prefer Matt Damon.
Had not heard this one. Maybe some more info will be released at the Vegas convention. This is the one confirmation that I am anxious to find out about.
wtf
bad picture, but I am not adverse to them signing a relative unknown in the role....actually I would prefer it. Quinto is gonna have to do a bang up job for me not to see Sylar.
Hummmm...Ok. If it's true he better be good.
