Ahhhhhhhh, so it is going to be a flash back kinda thing. That makes good sense and would be a nice way to start the story off.

Yeah if the are doing a flashback from the TNG era then having Shatner out would be a very "logical" conclusion.  I also think that a Spock flashback would be very cool at least for us fanboys because it would tie the new movie in better with the whole timeline that has already been established.
