Title: New LCD 22" screen, but...
Post by: the_wasd_man on July 17, 2007, 02:34:07 PM
There's always a but.

Anyways, I just got my new screen in the mail today, and everything works great except that:

Somethings wrong with the resolution.

This screens max resolution is said to be 1680x1050 (not that great, but not too bad), but for some reason my ATI card doesn't want to make it go higher than 1280x960.

Any ideas of what might be going on? (I'm not too tech-savy when it comes to monitors...)

Oh, something that might be important is that I'm using a D-SUB cable until I can buy a DVI cable, which, naturally, wasn't included... *grumble*

Hmm, well, nevermind. Serves me right, I didn't look deep enough in my graphics card options.

Well, anyways, all is well now. I love it! Here are some pics:

(sorry about the flash)

So, all's well that ends well...

If your wondering this is the particular model I bought: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=M333-2200

Not only does it have DVI, but component as well. My plan all along was tu plug the 360 in parallel... that will be sweet

Very nice!  I got a 24" Dell Widescreen a couple of years back and just love it.  These new widescreen LCD's for computers are great!  Make sure you have the latest video drivers installed too.

LCD prices have dropped through the floor in the past little while. I'm running a 20.1" Dell Widescreen LCD along with a 19" generic brand 4:3 LCD I got off tigerdirect for 160 bucks. I love dual monitors.
