I recently got the first series of BSG Minimates as well as some Classic Cylon Minimates. These things are really cool, not to hard to complete the set. These little guys are pretty articulated and some come with cool accessories.
Look for my review in an upcoming Podcast :cylon

Jeff, I like your display. You and I obviously have similar collecting tastes.
I love the classic Cylon. I didn't feel the need to get all the variants, but the standard one that I got is one of my favorite 'mates, and I've got a TON.
There are a couple other BSG 'mates out there that are a bit harder to get ahold of. DST released a silly Christmas-themed BSG-R Cylon Centurion. He's wearing a Santa hat. That one was a pass for me, but a friend hooked me up with a pretty cool variant of Kara which is her wearing a t-shirt and holding a cigar. I can't remember which event it was handed out at, maybe ToyFair. If you can get your hands on that one, it'd look nice in your display.
Dan
So cool dude! Does that display thing come with it or did you make it?
Very nice pictures Jeff! Now I really want some of them! :)
Awesome collection Jeff...
Thanks for the Compliments on the Pictures Guys
Dan, thanks for the Info on that Starbuck, I vaguely remember hearing about, I will have to put it on my search lists for eBay.
Fanboy, the Display Stand I actually used is a Cabinet Organizer (http://www.copco.com/store/site/product.cfm/id/E61ECCCD-475A-BAC0-5E189E961CC00E54/fid/52916CAC-475A-BAC0-502C53690EA6D270.cfm)
I stripped mine of the pads and Spray painted it Gloss Black, and then picked up some anti skid shelf liner from the Home Depot
As well you find something similar at Linen and Things (http://www.copco.com/store/site/product.cfm/id/E61ECCCD-475A-BAC0-5E189E961CC00E54/fid/52916CAC-475A-BAC0-502C53690EA6D270.cfm)
Here is a pick of it Expanded with my Astromechs and Kubricks

Great Kubrick collection. I know that's not every figure released, but it's a good deal of them. How many are you missing?
I missed out on the Obi-Wan and I'm kicking myself for it now, since Obi is the centerpiece of my collection. But it's so expensive now that I'll never get it.
That Luke X-Wing is my favorite with the little blaster and lightsaber. I've got two Royal Guards waiting for me to pick up at the post office tomorrow.
Jeff stop tempting me with all this pics! Great collection you have there. I never realized there were so many of them around.
Jeff, do you collect the Galactic Heroes?
Thanks Guys. I have been able to collect all the series up to now so far. I picked up a few Chases along the way, such as Hibernation Sickness Han and Endor Han, One was through a trade, and the other I found for a good price on eBay. The other Chases are to expensive for me, as I cant really justify the prices they want for those. I got a Blue Royal guard coming in the mail, from a trade with a person from Hong Kong for a George Lucas Stormtrooper figure I had, so I am hoping it comes soon.
My Favorite is the Darth Vader, as my wife picked it up for me when she went to Hong Kong to get her Visa papers. Probably the one I like to look at the most is the Gamorrean Guard.
From Exclusives and Chase version, I am missing about 40 :'(
The one set I would really like to get, is the Mail away set with Farmboy Luke, Leia, Chewie and R2D2, as they are main Characters, so I might pay more for those. As well I might try for a Han and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise as well sometime.
I will try not to post any pictures Rico, as I know these things can be very tempting ;) I know on some Forums they call them Carckbricks.
;)
Dan, I will send an email to a friend who collects Kubricks, and see if he has or knows anyone who has an extra Obi-Wan at a good price. I think he is one of Two people in Canada that has a complete set of Star Wars Kubricks that people know of.

Jeff, do you collect the Galactic Heroes?
I dont really collect the Galactic Heros. I have a few Stormtroopers and the Bounty Hunters. I like buying them for my Nephew, and he has a bunch of cool ones I bought him. They have a lot of them, and it was tempting, but I figured it would be to hard to keep up with all of them. I like what they have done with releasing the large sets, as it gives people a chance to get a bunch at once.

Thanks, Jeff
His "complete set" would be 40 more than you have? I knew there were a lot of rare ones, but I had no idea. Wow!
The Galactic Heroes are like crack to me. They're cheap enough that I can justify picking them up anytime. My girls like them, so I can justify any purchase by saying one of the figures in the two-pack is for them. And there's now Marvel and Transformers, so there's no way I'd ever get them all. My office at work is littered with them.
Jeff ----
Feel free to post any pics you'd like. I can control myself. Really, I can! Hehe.....
P.S. Speaking of which, do you get most of these in stores (what stores are best), or do you order them online? From where??
They have a lot of Variants that make up the 40, so I guess in Terms of unique figures, I might be short 25 - 30 figures. But they do have a lot of difficult figures to find as they have a lot of exclusives they release only in Japan. For the most part, their distribution of the core figures have been pretty good, and things like troopers, they usually pack in a larger ratio. The only ones that I really need would be the Mail Away set they started with.
The Next two series (8 and 9) will be prequel figures
Series 8
Battle Droid
Darth Maul (No robe)
Anakin (Pod Racer)
Queen Amidala (Formal Outfit)
Qui-Gon
C-3PO (TPM Version)
Series 9
Clonetrooper (White)
Jango Fett
Obi-Wan
Count Dooku
Yoda
Anakin (Eps II)
Which I believe both will be out in the next year. I know a lot of Vintage Collectors like collecting this line, so they are upset about this, as so far the Star Wars Kubricks have been sort of a homage to the old vintage line. For me I don't mind, as I love these things, so prequel figures are good to me.
The places where I get these varies. I got some in China, and others people would order in what they call Master Cases, and I would buy a set from them. There were a few Japan Toys R Us exclusives, one I got when I was at C3 in Indy a few years back, and another I got off eBay. The chases I have either bought or traded for. These are kind of fun to collect, in the sense you have to do a bit of collecting, and try different methods.
You can buy them in the States as well. Big Bad Toy Store (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=1243) is one place that carries them. Also Arnie and Marjorie from Star Wars Action News have mentioned they have gotten them from Andrews Toyz (http://www.andrewstoyz.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=55). eBay is also another place to look, and that is probably what I will do for the next 2 series. I will probably get the next series from Japan or Hong Kong, as the Shipping is not to bad, as the person I usually deal with on these is not doing Prequel.
To keep sort on Topic, The BSG minimates, I got from Toys R Us, Big Bad Toy Store (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=227&company=17&page=1) and Battlestar Online (http://www.battlestaronline.com/home.html). I will probably preorder series 2 and 3 from Big Bad Toy Store.

I got my first 4 series in Hong Kong, so it is a strong possibility that the toys stores in Taiwan might carry these. They originate from Japan, but I suspect they get distributed throughout Asia.
My Series 2 BSG Minimates arrived on Friday. This set came with Commander Adama. Tigh, Boomer, Baltar, Cylon with Canons and two sixes ( Caprica and Gina(v)), Here are some pics of them with series 1.

As well, a few weeks back I won an eBay auction for some Star Trek Minimates, $10.00 and some shipping for all. These ones are quite a bit larger then the BSG ones. I have my series 1 Star Trek ones on Preorder and should ship next week, they are the same size as the BSG ones, so looking forward to those. What I am really waiting for in the next wave of Star Wars Kubricks, as it has been a long wait.

Great additions!!! I really like the way you have them set up.
Great stuff, Jeff. Those are the 3" Minimates from way back.
The 2" TOS mates just came out in the last week or so. I'm going to pick those up, too.
Yes, I did not realize how much larger they were then the ones now. I preordered my Star Trek 2' ones last week, and got the note they will be shipping this week.
Here is a few comparison pictures of a Star Wars Kubrick and a Star Wars Lego, I was mentioning the size difference earlier today on an a chat with Kenny and Jen

I took this pic for a size comparison:

Cool picture Dan. I like how you have the 3 different Robins, very nice indeed
Thanks Jeff for the Kubrick vs. Legos size comparisons. Arnie and Marjorie were right, the detail on the Kubrics looks better. I'm going to get some of theseâ€"I love them. I'll create a Kubrick stormtrooper army around my desk at work, so people will leave me alone while designing. Do you think they're intimidating enough? :D
Yes, the Detailing on these are really good. It is one of those things that when you see them in person, that it far exceeds your expectation from Pictures. The Japanese put a lot of thought into their collectibles.
My Star Trek Series 1 Minimates arrived today :). I will release them from their plastic prison tonight. Looks like they come with a bunch of accessories which is really cool. Got word my Wifes new Camera shipped today, so hopefully next week I can take some better pictures.

Thanks Kenny, I bought a new Stand the other day at Linen and Things for my Star Trek Minimates, will have to paint it. So hopefully next weekend I will have some loose pictures. My Wife new Camera is on its way as well, so I am hoping the quality of my pics will go up as well.
Those are way cool Jeff.
I was Playing around with My wifes new Camera and here are some pics of my Star Trek Minimates. Still need to work on a display Stand for them.

After waiting what felt like a really long time, I received the next series of BSG and Star Trek Minimates. I think the Naked Time Sulu is my Favorite for Trek, though Arena Kirk and The Gorn are cool as well. The CAG Starbuck is my favorite from BSG. I am having a lot of fun with my Wife's camera as well, got a tripod the other day, so can start experimenting a bit more, but still have a long way to go.
