I caught the 8:00 showing of this today.
WOW!
Great action film. See it on the big screen.
I never really watched the cartoon, and I enjoyed the movie immensely.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I'm going 4th of July.
Although I was too old to be into the Transformers when the carton first aired, this does look like a fun movie. My problem with the robots themselves is I just can't seem to get over th e fact that these giant robots can somehow compress down into things as small as cars or trucks or helicopters. I'm hung up on the conservation of matter! ;)
Just got back from the movie. Its amazing. I watched Beast Wars reguarly (prehistoric version of Transformers) but I knew enough about the Autobots and Decepticons. This is one I will see again. Both human and robot were great. Go see it and enjoy. So far, best movie of the summer.
The family and I (and Mark above) all just saw it. I agree with Mark, it was a blast. Never really watched Transformers much and that didn't matter as far as the story. This is one very fun movie. Michael Bay is the King of chases, explosions, effects, etc. I was also really impressed with Shia LaBeouf. He made the movie very fun to watch. He seems very natural in a movie about giant robots. Can't wait to see him in Indiana Jones next summer. All in all, it's a great summer movie.
I saw it yesterday. From the perspective of a non transformers fan, If was a fairly good movie. Typical Mike Bay film. A lot of Action and Eye candy and a fairly decent story.
From the perspective of a Transformers fan, not that great. The "Transformers" were all secondary characters and very little Megatron.
I would say go and see it because it's worth seeing in the Theater. I would also recommend to the non-transformers fans who liked the movie to check out the "Transformers: The Movie" from the 80's. Yeah its a cartoon, but don't let that fool you, its just as mature as the new live action movie.
I saw it today, and wow. I to was like others, in that I did not follow Transformers much before this, but they sure do look great on the Big Screen. I will definitely catch this again.
Like many of you have said.. Transformers was a little after my childhood, but my brother was really into it so I have seen alot of the G1 cartoon and watched the Transformers The Movie so I know to story pretty well. I thought this was a really fun movie, of course the SFX were AWESOME as expected and the story was.. well simple. This is one of those movies that you have to watch again because so much happens during the fighting that you really can't see everything or who is fighting who. Gotta see this one more time in the theater.
I saw it at 10 in the morning, first day showing at a really bad theater, I loved the movie, at the theater the fx where wasted, everything was average noise not ear splinting like people are saying, all and all i give 5 optimus' out of 5
Ok, just got back from the movie. It was good! I didn't watch any of the cartoon so I was a little confused, but it was a great movie nonetheless.
Pretty amazing how real everything looked.
I loved this movie by far the best of the year I can't wiat to go see it again!!!!!
LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!!!
Saw it on the 5th and was amazed. I was indeed a G1 watcher as a kid and the special effects were breathtaking. I will agree that the only drawback of the movie was the fact that Megatron/Starscream did not get anywhere near enough screen time and Bumblbee's "lubrication" scene was a bit over the top but a fabulous movie nonetheless.
I saw it for the second time today, and I have to say it improved on its second viewing. Perhaps, because this time I saw it with some fellow geeks and we could share jokes during the film. The first time I practically fell asleep in the middle waiting for the action; I just couldn't stand the whole Sam-storyline.
My friend made one good comment--this is maybe the first film we've seen where the CGI never had a video-game look to it. It almost always looked like real film. Particularly impressive where where the transformers would fall on the ground and people screaming and running would be in the background. It was incredibly real.
Glad you enjoyed it more the second time. I still want to see it again while it's still in some good theaters around town. The effects are just so amazing in it!
This si on my list of movies to see
At one point in the movie (where all the transformers are at one location) I ignored the sound and WOW the shading and texture makes it all to real.
Saw this movie today was quite surprised by it, it was thoroughly entertaining.
