Have you seen any of the Halloween movies? The first movie is a classic, and the sequel picks up immediately after the ending. The next four movies are pretty bad, but the 7th ignores those and follows the original two movies, set 20 years later. I wouldn't bother with the 8th movie as it ruins the ending to the 7th. Out of the eight movies, I found only three of them to be good movies.
I remember watching the first movie many years ago. That was when movies of this ilk were genuinely scary, along with the original "Elm Street" film. But since then films tend to go for extreme gore and the originality has all but disappeared. There are so many "shock horror flicks" now that they tend to lose their impact. Halloween was pretty scary though and I can never forget that chilling music.
Did you like the modern Halloween H20: 20 Years Later? Most modern horror films are lame, but I found this paticular movie to be pretty scary. I prefer suspence over gore. :ohmy
I have to admit to not seeing H20, but I also prefer suspense to gore, so based on your recommendation, I may have to look out for it. I hear it features Jamie Lee Curtis from the very first film. Is this true?
Yes, Jamie Lee Curtis is in the movie reprising the role as Lourie Strode. That's the main appeal to me, seeing Lourie face Michael once again after twenty long years. There are some gross scenes, but most of them only last a few seconds. The majority of the thrills in the movie come from characters attempting to escape Michael. Some escape, some don't. It ending of the movie is very satisfying. Do you want to know if it ends with a cliffhanger like the first movie did? If not, I'll keep quiet. :thumbsup
