I know this is not a Sci-Fi movie, but I went to Live Free or Die Hard yesterday, and it was a lot of fun for a Summer Movie. Even though Bruce Willis has aged, he still fits the role and does not come across as being to old to me. Lots of Action with car chases, explosions and couple other fun type stunts. The tech stuff was what is usually depicted in these movies, with people typing in a handful of keys and gaining access to anything from anywhere, so take it for what it is in a action movie. Some of the action sequences came off a bit ridiculous, but were fun, but not very realistic. They had a few references to Star Wars in the movie, and some of the characters had some collectibles in their rooms which I thought cool. As well Tim Russ (Tuvok) had a small part in the movie. Overall, I left very satisfied, and had a lot of fun watching it.
Jeff,
When I saw the title to this thread Live Free OF Die Hard I thought it was going to be a negative review. I thought it was purposely worded that way to tell me to stay away, but now I see it must have been a typo. Thanks for the review!
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, I corrected the post title, yes, just a typo :)
I also saw this movie yesterday. :biggrin It is by far Bruce Willis's best action movie and probably one of the best action movies I have seen! While some scenes were not entirely realistic, they certainly looked realistic! I didn't notice any special effects, because it looked so real! :biggrin The dialogue was side-splitting, funny. I loved the generation gap, because Bruce Willis is from my dad's generation where as Justin Long is from mine (well, he's six years older, but close enough). One great part is where McClane puts on Creedance, Justin's character complains, and then McClane turns up the radio. Little things like that sold these two characters as relatable to the audience. :thumbsup The best action scene in the movie has got to be when McClane takes on an Air Force jet with a big rig! :roflmao
Saw this movie with a friend today. It's always funny seeing these types of action movies, I think I laugh more than anything. But we both really enjoyed it. Bruce Willis I thought was back in fine form as McClane. I also liked the hacker character played by Justin Long. He played him well and wasn't the typical annoying sidekick for McClane. Some of the stunts and effects in this movie are simply amazing. I think it might of been a warm up for "Transformers" this week. Overall, I think if you are fan of the other "Die Hard" movies you will probably enjoy this one too.
Ilook forward to seeing this
