I will be there as well. Although I'm not real reliable when it comes to mailing things, if you tell me what to look for, I'll do my best. (Hey, we all have limitations. At least I know mine :) )

Hey Guys.. I'm getting more takers on this topic then expected so could you please email your request. Give me as much info as you can. Like company name or better yet if you know the booth number. What it is exactly that I'm picking up and if you know the cost.  Just click on the envelope under my avatar for my email address. Thanks.

Wow.. comic con 4 day pass just sold out.. this has never happened before with SD Comic con.  Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger.. when first started going about six years ago it got numbers like 50,000 people the entire four days.. now it's up to 120,000 for the four days.  I guess being a geek is the new "in" thing.

Okay so I sent in live reports from Comic Con for Thursday and Friday. I plan on doing reports for Saturday and Sunday but of course they won't make it to Rico's podcast for a few weeks. Here are some highlights.

on Saturday I did panels all day long.

The first one was the Bionic Woman Pilot and Q&A. The pilot was a shorter  version of the one that will actually air but it was pretty good.  It had some really cool effects and watching the pilot made me want to see more of it. The Q&E was cool also.

Next was TV Guide's Hot List, this included an actor and producer from 4400, Heroes, and Bionic Woman along with actors from Kyle XY and Jericho. This was a fun panel just because I watched every series that was represented up there. It was your basic Q&A, not much "real" info was given.

The next panel is the big one that everyone was waiting for, Heroes Season Two. The entire cast including a new cast member and some creators and producers where there. It was a fun panel,  you can actually see it at NBC.com. Not much info was given out. The second season will be  titled Chapter Two but the creator said that the entire season might not be all Chapter Two like season one was all Chapter One.  They did announce that Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) will be directing some of the Heroes: Orgins series. As I said all actors where there expect Leonard Roberts who plays D.L... He has been missing from alot of the press stuff.. I think he will be the one that will not be back next season. I guess that's it.. they did show us a three minute clip of season two. It was just made up of a bunch of clips.

The next panel was BSG. This included Ron Moore and three of the actors, "Starbuck, Number Six and President Roslin". The big surprise is when Lucy Lawless came out and announced that she will be back in Season Four.

Next was the Furturama panel and they announced that they were doing four movies direct to DVD and then those are going to be cut up and aired on TV. This was a cool panel because they did a live reading and it was cool hearing them do their voices.

The final panel was Joss Whedon.. it was just him talking for an hour.. it was AWESOME. A few tidbits from his panel. He is still working on his pet project "Goners", They are about to shot "Reaper" This is Giles story from Buffy series, it's going to be a 90 minute TV episode on BBC. He said Buffy comic book season eight has an end in sight.. but he already has ideas for season nine. Also Angel season six will be back in comic book form.. but won't be called Angel Season Six like he did with Buffy. He mentioned a story that supposedly everyone knew but 2/3 of the crowd didn't know it so he told it. It involved the idea to bring back Tara. Supposedly in early season seven he had an idea that Buffy was going to be given one wish. She ponders this the entire episode and at the end she is talking to Willow and Willow ask if she has chosen her wish and Buffy says "remember those really expensive shoes that I wanted" and Willow looks shocked and says "you used your wish on shoes" and Buffy smiles and says "of course not" and exits the bedroom then Willow turns around and Tara is standing there. Joss said this would been a pivotal story plot in the Buffy verse. But they said they couldn't work a deal out so it never happened. It's a real shame, sounded like it would have been a great Buffy moment.

So that was my Saturday

On Sunday I spent all my time down in the dealers room, taking pictures and getting free stuff.

Kenny! You lucky lucky man! Listening to Joss must be fantastic. I really admire that guy. His brain is like an idea factory.

Icemen... I didn't see the Tricorder or assault phaser at the MR booth... hmmm I wonder if they were displayed.

Jeff... I did not see the Indy collectibles :( .. but they did give out these awesome posters.

Which I have a bunch of them if anyone is interested in having one.

Also I got quite a few Sideshow Gift Cards, they have a value from $25 to $100. Again I picked some extra ones up for you guys if anyone is interested.

Kenny, you didn't mention us running into Joss on the street and saying Hi!

I had a great time, too, and it was very cool hanging out with Kenny! If any of you have not met him in person, you are the poorer for it, as he is a great guy, and really helped my wife and me out Thursday night.

I personally met and spoke to Jon Favreau walking out of the restroom on Friday. He was very cool, and completely fanboyish about his Iron Man footage, which was pretty cool. He's making a great flick.

I also met Seth Green, George A. Romero, Warren Ellis (who said at one point that he'd never attend a Comic Con), Brian Pohsein, received a personalized Watchmen poster from Zach Snyder, and got to speak to the MST3K crew.  I also have a ton of pics, and will see what I can do to put them up somewhere.

Glee!!! :)

That would be great Rico.. you can share a hotel room with a friend and I to cut down on costs.. I heard rooms are already selling out for next year.. think I might book one in the next week or so. And if you go I can get you in for $25.00 instead of $65.00 for all four days.

I want to do either SDCC or the Big Vegas Trek con in 2008.  I don't think I can do both.

Honestly as much as I love Comic Con.. you have to see Star Trek the Experience, it's a must for all Star Trek fans. And I keep hearing rumors that it's going to close down I would get there sooner then later.
