Title: The Jetsons - Live Action

Rodriguez Mulls Jetsons

Grindhouse director Robert Rodriguez is in talks to direct a live-action feature version of the futuristic 1960s animated TV series The Jetsons for Warner Brothers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Denise Di Novi and Donald De Line are producing.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez has met with Will Ferrell and Universal executives for helming duties on Land of the Lost, based on the 1970s Sid and Marty Krofft fantasy TV series, to which Ferrell is attached to star. (Universal is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.)

While no offers have been made, sources told the trade paper that The Jetsons has the edge because its script, whose latest draft is by Adam Goldberg (Fanboys), is further along.

"We come from the future, in the year 2004!" The Jetsons on Harvey Birdman, in 2006.

I think this is a horrible idea, unless they do it like a complete farce.

Well they did do a live action on the Flintstones and that was a success. But I hae heard this rumor for years so will see if it ever makes it to the big screen.

I hate to sound completely cynical and judgmental (but I'm gonna anyway :D) but I see nothing and I mean NOTHING good coming from this.  I hated the FLintstones movie.
