Title: Stardust
Post by: Geekyfanboy on April 18, 2007, 02:50:46 PM
I was just checking out the apple trailer area and saw this new trailer.. it has a alot of stars and looks pretty good. It's called Stardust. it's a new Fantasy film.

Here's a synopsis:
Stardust is based on the best selling Neil Gaiman illustrated by Charles Vess., takes audiencs on an adventure that begins in a village in England and ends up in a magical world. A young man named Tristan tries to win the heart of a village beauty Victoria by promising to bring her the falling star. His journey takes him beyond the walls of his village to mysterious and forbidden land.

When Tristan finds the star, he is stunned to discover that it is, not a lump of meteoric rock, but an angry, injured girl named Yvaine, who has no desire to be dragged across the world and presented to anyone's girlfriend. But Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. A dying king's four sons - not to mention the ghosts of their three dead brothers, all need the star as they vie for the throne. Three evil witches, led by the murderous Lamia seeks the star's heart to make them young again.

Well I finally was able to catch a noon showing of Stardust. I have been wanting to see this since I saw the previews months ago and it didn't disappoint. What a great flick, fun characters, cool sfx and a neat story. I'm sad to see that it's not doing so well at the box office, which is a shame. It's so tough for a fantasy film to hit it big unless it's part of a phenomenon, ie Harry Potter. Maybe it will find success on DVD. I know I'll be buying me a copy.

On a side note.. there were several previews of up coming fantasy films that looked AWESOME.

Yep - it's a great end of the summer fantasy!  I really enjoyed it when I saw it a couple of weeks ago.  Really a sweet movie.  The actors did great and no one has seen De Niro like he is in this movie!  I highly suggest all those that love a good fairy tale go check it out in the theater.

Stardust is one of the greatest works of sequential art (comic books). I´ve read it several times and for what I saw on the trailer, it seems they made a great work taking it to the big screen. It will hit theaters soon here and I am really looking forward to see it.

And if you guys liked it, well I'm sure I will love it.

I went and saw Stardust the other day.

I had really no knowlege of it at all, except from guys here on the forum.

Ok, I liked part of it, but didn't like other parts of it.  I thought the acting was very good, the special effects were awesome too.  The movie was funny in parts and reminded me of Princess Bride in others.

I've never been a real witch fan, so those parts of it were ok, but not really that engaging for me.

The main storyline was sweet though, and I thought the they guy and gal did a super job in their acting.

It's a show I wouldn't see again, but it was an adventure.  A little long for me.

I think most would enjoy it, at least once.
