I'm planning another Skype call or Skype cast for March 10th at 2pm EST. This maybe setup as a new Skypecast which kind of sets up a Skype room where many can join in the call (more than the normal 5 limit). I've been testing out setting one of those up. Stay tuned to this thread for more info.
edit....
Use the TAKE 2 link here to join now at 2:45pm EST....

Awesome news.. I'm there. I'm very excited that you can do more then 5 people per call.. might get a bit crazy with everyone talking but it should be fun.
Yep - I want to see how frantic it can get!
If I can make it (timezone wise, etc) then count me in!
I'll be there if I can!
Count me in! :)
Im in (if i can come)
I will be out of town that weekend, so will have to miss it :(, but looking forward to hearing the rest on the show.
Hoping to have a big, fun crazy turnout for this! I really want to see how many folks we can get chatting at once and actually have some meaningful discussion.
Hi Rico, I'd like to participate too...if I'm not resting up for the "Buffy The Vampire Slayer Sing-a-long". Angela, Jim and I are attending that event at midnight Sunday at the Austin Draft House. But I do want to join the Skype fun this time around...keep us informed. :D
i'll try and get in on that... any idea what it will mainly be about?
It's just going to be another SF TV/Movie talk. Probably hit Heroes and Galactica especially. And the Trek movie of course.
what do you need to get on the skype talk
Latest version of Skype (version 3). I'm trying to setup the Skypecast. I'll post a link to that when I get it.
Got it setup now. This will be the link to visit this coming Saturday, March 10th at 2pm EST to join in:

does any one know if a ps2 head set will work as a mic for the skype talk.
If your computer can accept it then it should work. Skype has a builtin test option to make sure you have your audio set properly on your PC. I suggest you try that ahead of time to make sure everything is working.
ok Thanks rico If it does then I look fwd to chiming in on this as well.
wait, do you mean I need skype 3.0 to do the call?
Yes you need to download the newest version of Skype 3.0 to use the new Skypecast function.
k, i just checked and it looks like i already have it... I'm about 95% sure i'll be there
Just checked timezones and whatnot and I should be there!
Little reminder - today 2pm SKYPECAST! Link on the forum news, and on main web page.
once I'm signed into Skype, is there anything besides clicking on the link that I need to do differently? Just click on the link???

This is the first time I have done this so we will all be learning together! I think it should be pretty easy. I have the show set to start at 2pm. I think I have to start it at 2pm and then others can join in. No limit on how many can join I think.
I'll post any new info here....
OK ---- here is the new info
TAKE 2 of the cast will start at 2:45pm EST....

Recording at 2:45pm EST..... TAKE 2!
THANKS EVERYONE! Once we got rolling I really enjoyed this. Thanks to all those that could make it. Sorry about a few of the technical glitches. Editing it up now. Sounds good so far! Will be up in the feed early tomorrow!
Yes it was alot of fun. We also had a really good time the hour before in our pre-conference room chat. One think I noticed is that out of the 12 that were there only about five or six actually spoke. We kept losing people as the hour went on. I'm not sure the larger group is best when it comes to skype calls.
I think I only saw two get dropped during the call. Wasd mainly. One thing folks should keep in mind is wireless isn't always the best for this kind of thing. Try to hook into a wired network - if possible.
Probably just go back to a normal Skype conference call next time - since it can take more than 5 people in it now.
We just need someone with a goood comp for more people in the confernce

Yes, I learned that the hard way. ;) It was still fun, even though I was going to talk more with BSG, and then I lost my signal. :)
ouch
So I'm still not sure how it worked... If you get dropped, can you still get back into the call through the link?
Nope. That's what happened to me. Skype kept telling me that the conference was over... even though you guys were still there.
Ouch :( lol thats my word of the day i guess
