Amy and I just took our walk and listened to it on my headphone splitter.  Great show Rico, and thanks again for doing such a quality show.

Data's day was one of the best episodes ever.

We laughed and my wife got a real kick out of the collectible.. she just looked at me and started shaking her head.  She just doesn't understand our toys.  :)

Anyway, thanks again.

Rick

Glad you liked it.  And thanks so much to you and Nathan for the father and son review segment.  It really puts the icing on the cake for these reviews.  ;)

I listened to half the podcast on the ride into work today.  So far, so good.

Rico, I think you said that Shadows of the Empire took place between A New Hope and Empire.  It actually took place between Empire and Jedi.

Though it's been a while since I read the book, I remember that because Leia was in her Boushh disguise on the cover of the comic.  And they introduced Dash Rendar as a substitute for Han, who was encased in carbonite at that point in the saga.

DOHH!  I knew that.  Crud!  Too many darn SW timelines and books rolling in my head these days.  Thanks for reminding me.  I'll try and fix that boo-boo on next week's show.

Got set to listen to ep 104 today on my ride in to work...got about 16 minutes in to just where the episode review was starting when I found that for some darn reason Itunes only downloaded 1/4 of the show to my Ipod.  Man I was bummed.  This happens alot, and I know that it happens to others too.  I wonder if anyone has figured out why this happens sometimes?  I will of course D/L the entire episode from right here on treksf.com in the show notes section, but let me just take this opportunity to say...ITUNES SUCKS

I've used iTunes a long time and I've never really had this happen.  And I download a lot of podcasts.  All I can say is test the download out and play a little first, check the file size and time length.  Then Sync your iPOD.  I know this happens sometimes to some folks and hopefully this will help.

Joby - are you using the latest iTunes version?  What type of iPOD do you have?  Did you possibly sync your iPOD before the download was done?

I don't ever sync my Ipod because I don't like to keep files on my hard drive, so I generally download the file, add it to my Ipod then delete it immediately off my computer.  So if my ipod is synced to my library then next time I plug it in to my computer, it will delete anything off my ipod regardless of whether I have listened to it yet.  I am using the latest everything, itunes/ipod software.

Hmmm...well if you are manually moving a file over you should easily be able to see if it's the correct size.  Most of my shows are in the 50-60 meg range.  Give or take.

In automatic mode iTunes and syncing my iPOD works like a charm.  And once I'm done listening to a podcast, I just delete it then.

I do the same thing Joby does.  I don't have an extra 40gb on my PC to hold the contents of my iPod.  But I've never had the problem he describes.

I just finished listening to the podcast.  Great stuff.  I really enjoyed the father-son review, lots of fun.

I loved this episode. But I haven't seen it since it first aired. I wasn't sure which show you were spotlighting until I heard the clips. I LOVED the scene where he's dancing with that ridiculous look on his face...ah Data.

I enjoyed the podcast as well, I had forgotten that whole sub plot about the Vulcan/Romulan. Great comments Rico.
So Joby does not feel alone, I know a few podcasts back, I had the same issue, but since then everything has been good.
If you ever want to re download a file podcast in itunes, just delete the podcast, and the collapse the podcast feed with the little arrow, and then hold the shift key down and click on the arrow to expand and all the deleted podcasts will show up again and can be re downloaded.
