Let me know how you all think it sounded. I'm encoding the show at a little higher bit rate now, should make it a bit nicer to listen to. File size will be a bit higher though.
I listened to the show on my walk today! Awesome Rico! It was great. It sounded good. A few times toward the end there was this wierd background garbly noise, don't know what it was... but for the most part it all sounded really good. I like the longer cast... :) Too bad we couldn't put our chat up on an enhanced version of the cast, it would be funny. There were some really funny moments on the chat part.
Great job as always Rico! Here's to 100 more! :metallica:

Congrats on the show. I've got it queued for download to listen to on my commute tomorrow. I think just getting to 100's an accomplishment in and of itself.

Not sure about the "garbly noise" near the end Rick. Was it during an audio clip I played? The listener audio clips had varying levels of quality to them. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the show.
Awesome show Rico! I'm waiting for the day when your phone rings while recording a show and you finally snap and totally loose it!! I thought this might be the time, but you held it together! LOL! Also, I couldn't believe that one voice mail from the guy in England (sorry, forgot his name) was playing the song "Star Trekkin'" in the background! I was sure I was the only person who had a copy of that! It came out in 1985 as a novelty song and I found it back in the late '90's using Napster. If anyone want an MP3 of it let me know.
Anyway, congrats on your 100th episode, you do a terrific job and keep it up!

I was thinking that same thing.
Was it 98 or 97 that had the whole "why isn't anyone answering that? They KNOW I'm in here!" as the phone rang and rang and rang....

The phone is really pretty funny. I really thought I had it shut off for the last show. I have to remember to unhook it completely! Strange thing is we really don't get a lot of calls. Just when I podcast! LOL!! ;)

I too was surprised to hear the song. Honestly the last time I had heard it was years ago on Dr Demento's show. It is still as funny now as it was then.

Was great again to listen to the Trek and SW montages you did Rico. They were sensational. Thanks for the time and effort you put in there (as with everything!).
As for the "two trekkie chicks" - Jen and Angela? They were great and I look forward to their podcast, whatever the subject. They work so well together, specially if it was over skype! Just great stuff, and a lot of fun to listen to, and I think all of us can relate in one way or another (but no, i don't remember what I was wearing except to know that it would have been daggy! lol).
I think the phone is a contributor in its own right to the show! I mean it would NOT have been podcast #100 WITHOUT the phone interuption... considering all the times it has gone off.. it was fitting to come in, almost on cue :)
I still want to hear Rico answer it: "Hi this is Rico and you're live on the TREKS in SCI-FI podcast! What's that? You want to know if I'm happy with my long distance carrier? Hell, Starfleet pays my bills.."

New to your Podcast, have been listening the last 20 or so. Have been a long time Trek fan since it was my science class homework to watch it in black in white back in 1967. Yes I am one of the original fans who wrote to NBC not to cancel it and keep it on one more season. Now in my early fifties I can't believe the community I meet in NYC at the conventions is now alive and well in Podcats. I was very excited to hear in your podcast that you intend to do a special show on the Outer Limits original black and white series. I also witnessed it's premiere as a small boy sitting in the dark at his grand mother's house in Brooklyn one night and tuning in the ABC network and seeing the Galaxy Being episode with Cliff Roberson and could not sleep for years after seeing that "space monster" as it called it back then. Would very much like to participate in the chat for the show. Anyway living in Orlando, Fl these days and listen to your podcast on the drive into work. So keep up the good work and here's to many more great podcasts.

Another thought from your 100th Podcast. You also spoke about humor and Star Trek. One of the best and funnest films I ever saw abour Star Trek fans was "Free Enterprise" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0141105/ It stars Eric McCormack from will and grace and William Shatner playing himself. If there was ever a movie you should so a show about humor and Star Trek and Star Trek Fans, THIS IS IT!!! If you have not seen it, get it! All the main characters are Trekkies and quote the orginal show in evey scene. And the rap tune that Shatner does at the movie's end is priceless!
Anyway, just a suggestion.

Really enjoyed Podcast #100. You are quite correct in that not too many podcasters make it to the century mark, especially those who spend as much time and effort as you do. I liked your playing comments from other fans; that really gives a well-rounded sound and picture of fandom. Interesting how many people referenced the hopeful future aspect of Roddenberry's vision. The podcast certainly wasn't too long; you could have gone on for awhile longer!
Anyway, congrats on getting to and past 100, and good wishes for many more successes.
