Title: The Visitor
Post by: moyer777 on January 13, 2007, 03:15:58 PM
Hey Rico
I just listened to "The Visitor" podcast on my walk down to work.  Wow, some great insight.  Very touching.  I found myslef being moved emotionally.  I thought your comments were good too.  I agree that it was perfect for a Father's Day episode.

I think that is another reason I like Trek.  It may use all the futuristic gizmos and techno babble, but when it comes right down to it- it is about the stories.  The stories are so much about the human condition.  And when an episode like The Visitor comes out, it speaks to all of us who are parents about the bond between us and our children.  I thought Kenny's comments were very good on this too.  I felt like the whole losing his father time after time, and then sacrificing himself to make it all right again, was not only touching but classic.  8)

GREAT STORY TELLING that hits us where we all live.

I haven't hit a clunker on the podcasts yet, I am trying to get through them all....   great job yet once again.

Rick

Ths Visitor is an all time classic episode.. from the very atmospheric music and settings to the entire play of the story. Very touching. Definitely up there with The Inner Light in my books.
