I just thought I would ask everybody if they could get Master Replicas to make a collectable what would you want them to make.
After the TNG Tricorder and big original Enterprise next year, I have a few wishes. Tops would be a Studio Scale TMP version Enterprise. After that I'd love to see a Studio Scale TNG Enterprise. I'm also still hoping to see a full TOS Medical kit - like Dr. McCoy used. Many others come to mind, but those are the top of the list for me I think.
Hmm, how about making something I can afford?
Seriously, I'd always wanted a Phaser Rifle from either TNG or First Contact.
But I like your idea of a TMP enterprise, Rico. :biggrin
yeah...count me in on something affordable.
The mini line of sabers and blaster are about the only inexpensive things you will see from them. The CE line that was suppose to be a less expensive line of products has been stopped after only one item, the Qui-Gonn saber. One idea I would like to see them try with Trek is something like the Force FX saber line - but for Trek props. A line of under $100 props with electronics from Trek would be great. But don't hold your breath. They don't do nearly as much with Trek as with Star Wars.
lol I remember seeing thoses mini sabers at my local FutureShop.
Anyways I don't think there's enough of a market to be able to mass-produce Trek items "à là Force FX". Or at least they don't think so. Maybee their TNG tricorder will be a bit less pricey...
:unsure
probably not...
From Star Wars, a Studio Scale Probot Droid would be Cool, or the Poker Set that they Cancelled.
From Star Trek, release the TOS Phaser and Klingon Disrupter in a Mini Line.
If they Have BSG, just about anything, but would like the Viper Helmets from the Original and Modern Series.
If I could get whatever I wanted made from MR, I'd resurrect the CE line and get the Ep4 Obi-Wan saber.
Other than that, I want a Qui-Gon .45 scaled saber.
A scaled phaser line would be interesting. I'd probably waste a ton of money on that.
I'd definitely buy a reasonably-priced blaster from either the old or new BSG.
I think they should start creating costumes and costume accessories. I heard an interview with one of the MR marketing directors, on one of my Star Wars Podcasts, about a plan to do just that. ;D
I think it would be nice if they created Star Wars melee wepons like the vibro-swords seen in the Expanded Universe video games and novels. And Madalorian equipment including flamethrowers, wrist blasters, and jetpacks. Jetpacks would rock...
Some Star Wars Expanded Universe props would be awesome too. Maybe some of the masks from The Knights Of The Old Republic video games.
I would hope they would start making more Star Trek replicas. These would be nice: Geordi's visor, Worf's Baldric, A Bajoran ear ring, Uhura's ear piece and the statue of Kahless and Morath from Worf's quarters.
There were suppose to so both Anakin and Obi-Wan Jedi costumes as seen in the last film but I'm not sure they are still going to do them. I would also like to see both some nice SW costumes and some cool Trek ones as well. Have to wait and see....
Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true when I first heard it about it. It was just in "discussion" mode at the time. I thought of another replica for Star Trek. How about the flute from TNG's 'The Inner Light'? Nice avatar BTW Rico.

Looks like the Qui-Gon Jinn scaled Lightsaber will be an exclusive for Master Replicas Collectors Society for 2007.

Every version of the Enterprise and a working R2-D2.
A full scale R2-D2 and C-3PO have been hinted at.
Well, its not the full size working R2 I wanted, but its a start in the right direction. Fresh out of CES the R2D2 Projector.
From Gizmodo.com:
"Star Wars and gadget geeks, you may want to sit down before reading this post. This 1/2 scale remote controlled R2D2 has a projector stashed in his dome, capable of an 80-inch picture. And said controller is shaped like the Millenium Falcon. By the falcon's command, the sassy little droid can be driven forward and back and right down the trash compactor. The remote'll also spin his cute little dome piece around, trigger 11 R2 sounds from the movies. And there's a built in DVD player with stereo speakers, an iPod dock connector, USB and memory card slots, as well as AV inputs. The droid also has safety sensors to make sure you don't drive it down a trash compactor chute, or try to project it at a wall that's too close.
R2 pumps an 800 by 600 resolution image, is as bright as 1000 lumens with a 500:1 contrast ratio. Next up: C3PO surround sound system that does 21.1 channels of jibbajabba in millions of languages."

I WANT!!!! I WANT!!!!! :r2d2line
I tried and tried to find a cost on this... nope, haven't heard.
I really think this would be cool to own.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Anybody want to guess how much this is going to cost?
:r2d2line
Rick
WOW! Price??
Yeah I searched for the price also.. but there is nothing. I emailed the company asking when and where it will be released. I'm guessing the cost will be between $500.00 to $1000.00.
This is so cool, an R2 D2 that would look great as a collectible, and alos highly functional. I will be interested to hear what the final price on this will be, I am expecting it will not be cheap.
It has to be over $1000. Time to start saving. :)
Price I found out - about $3000. And it's not even a 1:1 full scale R2-D2. :(
WOW :jawdrop that's a little too rich for my blood.. now if he was full scale I would consider it. Oh well it was fun thinking about it while it lasted.
Star Wars:
Leia's Sports Blaster (from Ep IV when she makes her futile escape)
R2-D2
More Yoda lightsabers, esp. a ForceFX saber blade that actually goes back into the hilt (nice try Hasbro, but I don't need my eye poked out; gotta love SWAN)
Star Trek:
Phaser Pistol from TNG/TNG movies/TNG novels
Pike's Enterprise
Klingon Bat'leth
Translator that actually translates speech instead of just looking cool
BJ
Here is a link to an IGN article on the R2 http://gear.ign.com/articles/754/754184p1.html
This little guy is a bit out of my price range, but I think he is way cooler then that Apple phone everyone has been talking about the past few days
Man, I wish it was a better price. Oh well.
I can still dream, and pray a lot!
:r2d2line
How about a build your own lightsaber in which you put in couloured crystals to change the blade colour. And a Next gen Phaser rifle
oooh yeah..I agree Iceman. That would be nice. They have mentioned offering this year what they've called a "Joe Jedi" build your own lightsaber. :)

MR has made some of those already -> the Leia Blaster (nice item), TNG Phaser, and now a Yoda Force FX lightsaber - just going on sale.
If you go here, you can see the R2D2 in action... very cool. but smaller than I thought..

Oh man.. after watching that it makes me want one even more... so cool. :r2d2line
Here is another video of the R2 D2. Pretty cool stuff, to bad that the video is not all that great, as for that Price you would want a lot higher resolution. If you have a Video Ipod, then you could watch some of the Video through R2.
Also they talk about the Skype phone Lightsaber and R2 webcam, thats pretty cool as well, and a lot cheaper at $350, but still a bit pricey.

I SO want them to do some Farscape stuff. I honestly think it was one of the most under-rated shows about, I'd kill for a working DRD!
I would like to see them do a Stormtrooper helmet & a Snowtrooper Helmet & while I wishing here it would be really nice if they didn't cost like $500.00... :trooper
Darth - they are doing the classic Stormtrooper helmet this year. Probably be in the $350 - 400 price range.
Keo - Check my Collection Gallery for Farscape items. I've got a pulse pistol there. I also have a DRD full size kit I need to build up. It has lights but I want to slip a radio control car in it so it can move around.

Thanks again for the info, Jeff.
I finally caved and joined the CS the other day. I got an e-mail from MR that they had found some of the 2004 Con-exclusive Obi-Wan AFB scaled sabers which they were putting on sale to CS members.
That, on top of the Qui-Gon scaled saber, was enough to get me to break down and join.
Dan
Thats great you are able to get those Light Sabers, and that they released some of the 2004 Obi-Wan Sabers. I am still a bit on the fence about joining. Some of the things they have mentioned for 2007 have me interested, but hoping to hear more. Maybe once they start shipping some of the 2007 products, I will be inspired to join, I am hoping as well that maybe they will announce some more Star Trek products, that may tip me over.
I also finally broke down and joined yesterday. I joined primarily for the Qui-gon mini, and am hoping to participate/win in some of the trivia contests. I'd like, but probably won't be buying any of the helmets -- too expensive, nor the CS exclusive LEs (which haven't yet been announced).
What I'd really like is for MR to make some .45 scale helmets, for around $100 I'd buy them.
I'd also like to see some smaller - more affordable - ship models, both Star Wars and Star Trek. I'd like to find the Enterprises (all of them) in a nice, but relatively inexpensive, smallish form.

How's that for answered prayers? Mini helmets, and mini vehicles. Now they just need to add the Star Trek vehicles.
The Mini helmet line is good news, definitely interested in that. Still hoping for some more news on Star Trek items, as I really would like to add some nice Star Trek pieces to my collection.
They are doing a Trek TNG Tricorder this year and an assault phaser (movie).
