Hey everyone this post is coming at you through my brand new Nintendo Wii!! The kb interface sux though so I'll post my full review traditionally with my laptop later. Merry Xmas!!!
Neato! We love our Wii here!
I am pretty happy with my Wii. I have so far really only played Zelda Twilight Princess, but have enjoyed it a great deal. The only problem I am having is with the visuals. I am so used to a year of HD gaming on my 360 that it literally hurts my eyes during some of the screens in Zelda. The control scheme really does take some getting used to, and I don't like being attached to the Wiimote via the wrist strap, as it interferes with my usual gaming habits of eating smoking and drinking while playing. I have other games to experiment with, Elebits, which hasnt come out of the case yet, and the Virtual Console titles Gunstar Heroes and the original Zelda.
I like the web browser, which is available for free download for a limited time. The functionality is good but a bit limited. The Mii channels and weather channels are all worth a look as well.
So far my original impression is that the Wii is a worthwhile occasional distraction, but it will not come close to being my main gaming console, falling behind the 360 and DS, in order of play.
To all Wii owners and gamers:
if you register your friends' wii system codes in your address book and they do the reverse (register yours) your and their Miis will visit each other systems (provided they are Internet connected, of course).
If you would like to, I would also love to have your Miis visit me.
I am also copying some nice Miis that I discovered: Picard, Geordi, Kirk, etc...
