What? No replies for this post? OK Redshirt 97 to the rescue! lol! I still remember watching this one back in the day. It is not all that bad of ep of TOS but not great one either. Yes the whole US Flag and Counsition thing was far fetched. but it was a good plot device to epress the ideas of freedom and the concept of democracy. the thing that stands out the most for me is how they found the remains of the crew of the other starship. I seem to remember that what DR. McCoy was saying about the chemicals and elements in the human body was text book material.
