Check out this great news! Long time/old time TrekSF forum regulars might remember that I've been recommending and wishing for a service like this for years and years now, and it finally exists.
AMC theaters is offering a subscription service to their theaters, where for $35 a month ($45 if you want 3D & IMAX) you can see one movie a day, every day of the week at any AMC theater. No blackouts, no restrictions. The service debuts in Denver CO and Boston MA in January, and hopefully will roll out nationally soon. It's a little bit pricier than I would have liked ($25 would have been a no-brainer for me) but I still may have to pull the trigger if or when it comes to the Philly area.

I would do that if I can go month to month.
Too much money. Most movies I see at a matinee for $6 or $7. Even in the summer I see at most 3-4 movies a month.
Interesting idea but I don't know - who would see a movie every day? They only release a few new movies each week. I guess if you REALLY liked any kind of movie. The AMC theatre by us has too many price tiers - before 12, after 6, weekday, weekend, etc. I think they could offer $5 movies all day every day and every show would sell out. Its a difficult position because often we're ok with just waiting a few months and getting it for $1 at redbox.
If you could buy a pass for a 30 day period, I would do this. Just see 3 films and it pays for itself. Even matinees are $10 here I think.
Does it say you have to sign up for more than a month at a time?
I wonder if you can get a popcorn rider. :)
