Syfy announces scripted dramas in development

Could be and effort to lure fans of space science fiction back to the channel?

Orion and Shelter sound pretty good. And they need more shows and less wrestling.

They have good possibilities. Shelter almost sounds like Logan's Run.

Infinity could be done sort of tongue-in-cheek like FarScape or in the more serious style of Voyager.

Yeah, it's hard to tell. But this is all good news...it's something I've been complaining about since SGU was canceled.

Overall I think we just need more TV shows set in space. Since SGU was cancelled there hasn't really been any shows going out into the final frontier (Doctor Who I suppose, but I'm not current on that since I can't get BBC America).

Obviously my secret hope along with most of us here I'm sure is a new Star Trek series, but I'd be pretty happy just getting something space centered.

I'd love a show based in the Mass Effect universe.

Oh I really agree there. I love that universe, it's got such depth to it, and from the game perspective feels so much like the future of Earth going out into the universe, and find themselves such a small part of a huge and already built social structure and governing force. I love that idea of Earth just not being the big thing, but they are thrown into that mix to play their part.

Though the one thing with that universe I'd say is to build a TV show off the universe itself, and not the story and characters we see in the game, cause I think the gem of the game is how everything plays out the way you influence it, and Shepard is a unique and personal character based on your own personality. I think it'd be hard if not impossible to get the story and characters everybody (or majority) liked because there were so many variable factors in the game. (But then again maybe it would work. Just a thought.)

No I agree. I'd want a show in the universe but not focusing on Sheppard.
