Title: Run Silent, Run Deep
Post by: davekill on April 12, 2013, 12:46:33 PM
Just saw the epic submarine movie 'Run Silent, Run Deep'.
Quoted as the inspiration for TOS Balance of Terror.

This movie had it all, great cast, great script, and a great director... Robert Wise.
For a final role, James T Kirk couldn't have asked for a more heroic demise, solving a mystery and saving his crew - instead of falling off a bridge in Generations.

Though due to the switch in perspectives in the Trek version of the original, I think Kirk would have been in the roll of the Romulan commander and the BOP would have been victorious ;)

i like submarine movies, i think there should be more of space movies like those. two ships no vision, the captain's intellent and a last chance battle.
star trek 6 's battle was close.
