Ours is going to be the little fake Charlie Brown tree we have. Fran demands we have a real tree but we're going to be away for the week before Christmas. She won't let me get a fake one and I'm not leaving that fire hazard unattended in the living room for a week. Pathertic 3-foot tree photos forthcoming! :)

We always put ours up just after Thanksgiving as we are not here for Christmas and like to enjoy having it up. Thanksgiving is also a few day earlier this year relative to Christmas and it's a artificial tree, so it can't die on us. :)

We usually put up our tree just few days before Christmas - although we decorate the outside of the house the weekend after Thanksgiving (more or less weather permitting).

I have so many Hallmark Star Trek and Star Wars ornaments, that I am thinking of getting a small tree for my basement and hanging them on it. For my larger tree, I will put the more traditional ornaments on it.

Yeah, I have my own little palm tree style Christmas tree in the office which has STAR WARS ornaments Jamie banned form the big tree. :)

I am thinking my wife might have the same feeling. I got a Tie Interceptor and a Grievous for my Birthday, so I think they might just push my total over what is acceptable for the main tree, so I will make the proactive decision to display them elsewhere :)

It seems like we here in the states tend to get ready for holidays early.   I think when I was growing in the 70s we didn't but up the tree until it was closer to Christmas, I thinking the pratice of putting it up after thanksgiving is a more recent custom.

Ah right. We normally put ours up two weeks before Christmas but this year will be around the 3rd December.
