Well after much debate and going back and forth I have signed a lease for new studio equipment to take my business up a few notches.
Here is what I will be working with in the next couple of weeks.
Mac Pro 2.6 ghz
16 gigs of Ram
1 512 gig SSD
1 2 Terabyte drive
1 1 Terabyte drive
Mouse/Track Pad
Keyboard
Software:
Office
Photoshop
Logic Pro
Final Cut Pro X
Compressor
Not on the lease:
2 27 inch Monitors
I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. But it was time to jump into the MAC world for my creative stuff. Let's see how it goes.
Sounds like a sweet rig. Looking forward to seeing your creations from the new gear!
Thanks Rico! It has a lot more sounds for me to use, so I'm really excited.
Oh no Rick drank the Apple Kool-Aid!
Seriously congratulations and welcome to a great OS, looks like you've got a good rig. :)
ahahahahaha!
Awesome! GLad you found a way to make the lease work. Excited to see what comes out of that monster machine.
I kid because I have four G5s sitting in this room - I don't have the heart to get rid of the old ones when I upgrade.

My previous daily-driver has 16 gigs of ram and the current Mac Pro has 8, that's still plenty.
If your doing Audio/Video editing I'd recommend Adobe 'Production' Creative Suite, it's got a great set of apps.
Anything more like Web developing you would do well with the 'Master' Suite.

Is that a 12-core machine?
Yes, 12 Core
Congratulations Rick! :cheers
You know what they say, "Once you go Mac, you never turn back!"
I ordered some monitors today and they are on the way. Had to get a midi to USB adapter and a couple of DVI cables. Also figured out what kind of video card it had on it. There are two super drives on it too.
Just made my first lease payment.. fun. ;) but here we go into a new realm of learning and creating! Watch out movie scoring!
