This is a cool fan trailer I found...

That's very cool! Love the use of the Star Trek trailer music "Freedom Fighters".
Yeah - I like it too. Here's an old ABC promo for the pilot movie.

Great podcast you guys! It's good to see that someone else appreciates the old series. Gonna pop it into the DVD player tonight.

I have them all on Blu-Ray! The original BSG was a HUGE influence on my fandom. I started with Trek reruns and the Logan's Run. STAR WARS hit an nothing was the same, but we had no content post 1977 to keep us satisfied until BSG in '79. Empire was still a year away and this show gave me my sic-fi fix once a week. I was Starbuck foe Halloween 2 years in a row.
Stick a fork in it, cause that was 'Well-done'. Thanks for another fun podcast guys!
Thanks alot! It was a blast to do, loved playing with those clips and Cylon sounds. :cylon I'm in the midst of re-watching the series, it's been many yaren since I saw them all!
Loving the cast so far. It always bugged me that Apollo gave Adama a lift in his Viper. Where did he stuff him, the cargo hatch?! We wouldn't get two seat vipers until later in the series. Also I recall in one cut of the film, they did execute Baltar but it was edited out once it was decided he would be a recurring character in the series. Did you guys come across that info? I can tell you one person who wasn't happy with this show, George Lucas. They sued to try and keep it off the air even though what would become ILM was doing the effects work. I think this was the point where John Dykstra parted ways with GL. The visual and sound effects are terrific for the time, shame the shows budget was so limited they had to reuse so many of the space shots over and over and over and over.... :)

Yeah, we definitely cover all of that!
Great cast so far guys! I am half way through (listening during the commute).
Oh, there are guys over at the RPF who build full sized studio scale Battlestars all the time!

How do I get one of those for my living room???
YOUR WORD AS A WARRIOR?! BWAHAHAHAHA! :)
Isn't that the best/worst????
Loved the podcast guys, really fun and informative. Great clips and of course my all time favourite Moyer composition at the end.
I just picked the soundtrack, i think its just a one disc CD though.
One of our lovely forum members got me a line on the 4cd set...and it's wonderful!
Loved the podcast! I usually don't get to listen to them until later in the week. I had forgotten so much about the set-up of the original Battlestar, so this was really great.
It had been a long time for me as well, and since the podcast I have been redisovering the series and it's an amzingly fun journey. Sometimes you think you won't enjoy things you did as a kid, but with BSG, I totally do.

I did a rewatch of the series a few months ago when I got the blu-rays. It was fun and nostalgic. Some of the episodes were a bit weak but on the whole it wad great to see again and in such clarity.

Bryan - what are these Blu-Ray's of the original Galactica series you are speaking about? As far as I know, the first series is only out on DVD.

Good grief, see saying blu-ray is becoming ubiquitous with saying DVD for me. My bad, they are the box set DVD'd.
With streaming and Blu-rays, I can't remember the last time I bought a DVD. I really can see how it's gonna be. I think I will probably remain old fashioned, there is something about owning a thing that you really enjoy. I don't think I'll ever just be a Kindle reader, I like to hold the book. This would be a cool series to see get cleaned up for a Blu-Ray release. The Cylon box for the DVDs is funky fresh, though. It would be neat to have that on the shelf.
A very nice friend here from the forum sent me the box set... I'm in heaven!
Finished the cast today. Great job guys - thanks!
our pleasure!
