Title: Friendship 7 remake idea

Very cool and retro documentary about NASA's first manned orbital flight.

Trail blazers such as John Glenn in the early days of NASAs space program were truly living life on the edge. Riding off the shelf modified ICBMs far above the Stratosphere, These accomplishments are knitted into the fabric of this nation and will be remembered beyond most other accounts of man.

"It's the end of the world and I feel fine"

I love the sweeping dramatic approach of this NASA production and my mischievous instincts say this could be another Zucker brothers masterpiece...

Watch this video and see if you don't agree
a few scenes that caught my eye.

- The HR lady badgering flight cntrl personnel with insurance forms just before launch.
- Remote dish locations and Glenn's comments of fly overs.
- Retro rocket re-entry drama - did it or didn't it. And loss of comm link with Stephen Stucker "Johnny" at the switch.
- Upon recovery and transport to the aircraft carrier, Glenn is tight with all his Navy buddies but completely blows off the civilian contractor. This actually happens at about 54 min - it's typical, but cracks me up anyway. In the remake Glenn ought to push him overboard.

Lloyd Bridges - Project Manager
Robert Stack - Recovery Commander
Stephen Stucker - Systems Monitor
Leslie Nielson - Flight Surgeon
Julia Hagerty - HR lady
Robert Hays - John Glenn
Otto - Himself

and Peter Sellers (or Christopher Lloyd) as Dr. Wernher von Braun

Thanks turtle.

Hollywood seems to be scrambling for ideas and I'm ready for a good comedy.

No one has done NASA since The Reluctant Astronaut.

They may have to update my cast since most of those guys are probably dead by now - anyone but Ashton Kutcher.
