Coming out next March from Sam Raimi. Hopefully it will be good.
Walt Disney Pictures has released the poster for director Sam Raimi's Oz The Great and Powerful, the fantasy adventure opening on March 8, 2013 and starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff.
The film imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot--fame and fortune are his for the taking--that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Kunis), Evanora (Weisz) and Glinda (Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity--and even a bit of wizardry--Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Awesome.. awesome.. awesome.. can't wait for this movie to come out.
This film looks surprisingly good! I was quite skeptical when I first heard about this remake of the OZ story but seeing the trailers is changing my mind. Look like it could possibly be the new Harry Potter type series for this decade if Disney does right by it.

Yeah, this looks really cool. :)
I love the colors and look of it all. Hopefully the story will be good too.
They did a great job with this film. Sam Raimi really got it right I think. A good mix of drama, action, some comedy, and some emotional stuff too. Some real nice touches to the original film too. Might even go see this one a second time in theaters. Don't miss this one!
P.S Made some good money over this first weekend too.
Yeah, this one I am looking forward to.
The wife and I went to see the 2D version after our Anniversary Dinner and we both really enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting much but was very surprised how much I enjoyed it. The color was fantastic and the cgi was amazing. Like was said in an earlier post this must be seen at the theater for the most enjoyment. I like James Franco too. I have seen some of his movies that I really enjoyed. Spring Breakers not one of them, never seen it and never will. Anyway the actors in this film all did a great job and I really liked the small monkey Finley. He looked so real!
The wife and I give this movie a 9.
