Title: "Superman vs. The Elite"
Post by: Rico on June 19, 2012, 04:51:23 PM
Watched this just recently and really enjoyed it.  Another direct to video animated DC movie.  Superman's moral compass and the way he deals with criminals comes into question.  I liked what this film had to say if you had the kind of power Superman has.  Well worth watching.   :superman

I've enjoyed all the DC animated films but I thought this one was especially good. The script, directing, voice acting and pacing of the film were good.

So far I have collected all the DC animated films but I don't know if I'll continue. I seem to only ever watch them once and that's it. They just sit on the shelf gathering dust and taking up space. I think I could put the money I spend on them toward films I would watch over again.

Yea...I'll probably do that from now on. Our only rental store has such a poor selection I rarely darken their doors and although I do subscribe to Netflix streaming I won't pay additional to rent discs through them. I just wouldn't get my money's worth out of it.

Plenty of other options:  Pay per view, iTunes, Amazon rental, Red box, etc.

Animated superhero movies like Superman, Green Lantern, Batman and Spiderman never really appealed to me and I don't know why. I think I need to reassess that opinion.

I tend to agree with you Kenny, except on very rare occasions, I find the animated series much less interesting than the comics they are based on.  I think because it usually SEEMS like the TV shows/movies are geared more to younger kids while the comics target older kids and adults.  Just an opinion and by no means meant to disparage anybody who loves the animated movies and shows.

You really need to watch some of these animated films DC has been putting out Joby.  As a comics fan I think you would enjoy them.  They are just as good and in some cases better than some comics.  Certainly not just for kids.

I liked this Superman a lot Kenny but I think All Star Superman is my favorite so far. I collect all the DC animated movies and really enjoy most of them. Not too fond of the Marvel animated films. I think DC has the edge there but Marvel is doing a better job on the live action films.

I liked this one.  Not as much as All Star Superman, but this was pretty cool.
