The best Faux Science show!
Not edu-tational, it's sci-omedy at it's best.

Humour is derived from a combination of patent nonsense and faithful references to the '70s and '80s educational films and school programs.
"What are birds? No one really knows..."
The modules were, in order of airing:
Calcium (pilot, double episode)
Maths
Water
Germs
Ghosts
Sulphur
Music
Iron
Brain
The module subjects are distorted beyond recognition; for instance, germs are described as coming from Germany, and whisky is said to be made by bubbling (or 'mafipulating') nitrogen in water. The maths module features a distorted and inaccurate version of the ancient 'seven cats' puzzle by Ahmes. Additionally, subjects are mixed - for example a chemistry experiment about eggs (In the episode Water) turns into a French language lesson. Each episode follows a general format, beginning with an introduction to the subject, followed by a series of silly experiments performed by the hapless (and normally mute) scientists, played by Popper, Serafinowicz and Edgar Wright, among others... :D

Loved this when it was first shown and yes our old science programmes looked just like this. featuring to the right of the above picture the actor who voiced Darth Maul.
That series was brilliant and is so close to what I remember of Tomorrow's World and the like in the seventies, including the fashions.
I think the best bit for me was the visit by Synthasiser Patel. 'A man who was so devoted to his synthasiser that he changed his name to Synthasiser.'
I really enjoyed that show! I have it on DVD. :D
