Fot those of you not familiar with Steve, he has been in the effects and model making business in Hollywood for many years and worked on both STAR TREK The Motion Picture, were he helped make the Vulcan Shuttle, and The Undiscovered Country. He has a very impressive resume and is a member over at the RPF where he does a lot of original and customer model work. I have commissioned him to build a K'tinga class Klingon Battlecruiser as seen in STAR TREK The Motion Picture with working lights. This has always been my second favorite ST ship behind the refit Enterprise. Steve will be doing a video blog of the build and here a brief first entry which he included as part of a Voyager build he is also working on. I will post more vids as he makes progress this week!

this was very cool to watch. How awesome Bryan. I can't wait to see what he does to it to make it more like the movie cruiser.
Wow, thanks for sharing the Video Bryan, going to be interested in watching the build. He so effortlessly was able to paint up that Voyager Model, has a real talent.
Next video on it's way but check out the base he made!
That is a nice Base, thanks for sharing the progress. It is cool to see him building that Model, I built the same one years back, but had no clue on what I was doing, so this will be informative when I try another Klingon Cruiser in the future.
Very cool. I used to build models very shoddily when I was young. It's something that always kind of sits in the back of my head (along with drawing and painting) that I keep wanting to get back into.
I'm digging this thread. Thanks for sharing Bryan!
Awesome. I've always loved the look of Klingon ships.
Video one is up!

wow, so incredibly awesome! I am enjoying this so much!
I am having trouble linking the YouTube videos from my Mom's iPad, so here is a direct link to the thread on the RPF. He is up to Video #3. It's so cool to watch how he does it.

Thank you Rick!
Man, I would love to do that stuff. Have to try and make some time for it.
That sort of takes Model building to a whole new level, really interesting to follow this.
KTinga Part four (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmGx0qYbdJI#ws)
Great Video, picked up a few tips on taping of puttying and using nail files. Sure learning a lot from these videos.

Cool Video, I do sort of recall the decals being very thick as Steve mentioned. Beautiful paint job he did on the ship.
oh I know, I just love the metallic feel to it, but the cool bird of prey green. So amazing. I like this guy too, I think he is fun. I've learned a lot just by watching. Not that I have ever done any serious model building, but I think I want to build an old style Battlestar Galactica Viper. I love those ships I think more than any others... I also thought the Stargazer looked pretty darn cool.

I have an Old Style Viper and Raider sitting on my Shelf to build. I think might be the same one Chris had built. I am working through some other Models right now to get some experience before I try my hand at those, as I want to do a good job.
Great videos!
Love watching this project come together.
Nice exclusive about Drexler's new project too.
He must be frustrated with Blood & Chrome after all his effort.
He's doing an amazing job, I LOVE the color he nailed!
Yeah, the subtle work doing weathering and depth with the different shaded panels is spot on...wouldn't expect any different though, the guys lives and breathes Trek.
Time to catch up!

I watched the Video this Morning. Looks like he is getting close to having your Battle Cruiser done, you must be getting excited to get it. That Voyager build he is doing looks awesome as well. Inspired me to get to my basement this morning to work a bit on my own Model projects for a few hours.
'Atta boy Jeff! Yeah, he will likely have this done in the next few days. How do you like that plaque I had made and sent to him? Pretty sweet, even has a place for him to sign it!
Yeah, I saw that Plaque, Great Idea, and he can ship it to you when he sends the Ship. Looks like from the Lighting, your Ship is getting the benefits of some of the Lighting he got for his Voyager, so it is going to look awesome.
So great!
All done!!

Just beautiful! :)
He's looking to take on other commission builds! And for the work, he's very reasonable in price. My model was $450 for the build, $50 in parts and lights, and then I added some extra parts for like another $30.
Wow Bryan, that looks fantastic. He did a great job on it, and very thorough. I am surprised how inexpensive his prices are, he put a lot of work into yours.

I spoke too soon! He had to do even MORE stuff today and realizing the amount of work involved he has had to up any future build prices to $800, so I feel VERY lucky to have been his first customer on this. Still an amazing talent well worth it if you have a dream project. I am so tempted to have him build my PL 1/350 TOS Enterprise once it is realized. I bet he could make one to rival MR Enterprise.

The stenciled pattern looks great and I like the red bridge lights too.
very, very cool. I just loved watching the videos. Now Bryan, I want to see a video with it at your place!
I need to quit my job and build models for a living. That would be awesome! Maybe when I retire.
Some nice pics Steve took.
Wow, I really liking that Paint Job he did on the Model. Going to Look Great when you get it Bryan.
And she has arrived in perfect condition. :wub

So awesome! The stand and lighting really make it pop and adds so much. Bryan, now you need a TMP Enterprise to that scale to sit next to it!

What the pics don't convey is how RED the glow is from the stand, it looks amazing in person. And I did ask Steve that exact question yesterday, Rico! That would be around $1000. He said it's a very hard kit to build up, need a lot of work. I think I will hold off and see if I would rather have him build my PL 1/350 TOS E with lights for maybe not too much more $.
Wow, looks Great Bryan, thanks for the close ups, as his paint job on it looks great.
