Title: Podcast RSS feed generation
Post by: billybob476 on March 27, 2012, 10:55:37 AM
Hello forum podcasters!

So, I need to generate a podcast feed for my show. I'm using Wordpress on my site and I know the enclosure tags are auto generated on my site's main RSS/Atom feed but it doesn't look like I can add any additional itunes tags to that feed. I also kind of like the idea of my podcast feed living independently from my wordpress install.

So, my question is: What do people do fro the feeds? Do you use tools? Hand coding?

I was thinking of just hand coding it since XML and I are good buddies (via my day job). Just wondering what the options are and what "optional" info in the feed people feel is most important.

I use the free and open source "Podcast Generator" script for Out Of Range. Works really well.

I highly recommend using the free PowerPress podcasting plugin from Blubrry.  It lets you do all kinds of things without needing to write any code.

Good luck,
