Title: Podcast # 374 - Larry Nemecek
Post by: Rico on March 07, 2012, 04:27:43 PM
Well, you get a bonus podcast this week on Wednesday!  I had a great discussion with Trek author, researcher, fan, producer, film maker, etc. over Skype last weekend.  He has a cool new film project he is working on.  We talked for quite awhile, but I boiled it down to about an hour for all of you.  Hope you enjoy this as much as I did during the call with Larry.

Thanks.  It was real easy to talk to Larry.  We have very similar backgrounds, growing up on Trek reruns, going to a lot of cons back in the day, etc.  Lots of fun chatting with him.

Fun podcast, AND it was a flashback to the 'good ol' days' when we used to get TWO shows a week!

Yes, a good podcast to listen to. Larry is one of those names I've heard if but couldn't quite place in context. I'm still not sure where I've seen it before to be honest but he seems to be an interesting guy to get to listen to.

Hi Rico, I just listen to the podcast of Larry Nemic this weedend.  Great podcast,  it is good that you can do podcast like this where you interview someone from the trek franchise.  I have never heard of him before, so the podcat was informative as well.  I also never heard about the first convention in the 80's going bad like that. that was a new one to me.  I never knew that. Mr. Nemiec seems very knowable of what is going on in the trek franchise too.  maybe you will have him on again sometime in the future.

Thanks Rico! I'm looking forward to hearing this. Larry has been a long time staple in Trekdom. I remember when he took over as managing editor of Star Trek Fan Club magazine (later The Communicator). I also frequently refer to and read his TNG Companion when I am working through the series on DVD. Great that you were able to interview someone I consider an icon.

You should do some random interviews with various members of the forum.  I vote for Meds to be the first.
