Title: Recommend movies available on Netflix streaming
Post by: Dangelus on February 21, 2012, 10:42:12 AM
Since a lot of us use Netflix I thought it might be cool to start a thread of streaming movie recommendations. It can sometimes be a little difficult finding a movie to watch so every little bit helps.

I pretty could Netflix index site I use is http://www.instantwatcher.com (http://www.instantwatcher.com) when I'm looking for movies.

I'm currently working my way through the series "Weeds" and want to start on "Mad Men" sometime too.

Mad Men is on my radar.

I'm currently going through "Supernatural". I stopped watching this show half way through season 1 for some reason but it appeared on Netflix last month and I'm really enjoying it.

I left off the TV series because I don't have any idea when I'll have time to start a new series.  I want to watch Nip/Tuck and Friday Night Lights, both available for streaming currently.  Supernatural is a good one too I haven't watched yet, but have wanted to.  I'll put that up there too.

Supernatural is on Streaming now!! Found it, thanks for the notice there. I ran out of episodes when it was just DVDs and I'm a season or so behind. Didn't know they added it to streaming.

Fritz the cat!! Wow, that takes me back.  I recall that being all the talk when I was not even in grade school.  I watched it as an adult on Netflix, and was disappointed.  Generally, I like Ralph Bakshi's work, but found this to be dated.

Yeah, Robert Crumb is definitely a product of his era and doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the context of the 21st century.  As one of the first mainstream adult cartoons though Fritz definitely has his place along side Heavy Metal and Wizards as an icon of movie history.

A new deal between Netflix and the Weinstein Company will allow for Weinstein movies to stream on Netflix before appearing on pay cable.  Included in this deal is Oscar front runner "The Artist".

If they are meaning it will stream on Netflix prior to premium channels like HBO or Showtime that is an AMAZING deal.  I don't think they mean pay-per-view, but I'm not sure.

Yes! I put this in my Q. I haven't seen this in a long time. Is there anything better than John Boy in a spaceship!
Currently I'm trying to get through the TekWar movies before they go off on Feb. 29. Other movies that I want to catch before they go off also are "Babe Ruth", with John Goodman, Stan Lee's "Mosaiac" & I'm going to finish "JFK" with Kevin Costner this morning.
Check out "The Next Three Days" with Russell Crowe. Great movie.

Spaced and Farscape are available, and if you've never seen these they are definitely worth watching. Also for the Being Human fans, or anybody who has an interest I found they have both versions. I'm gonna actually have to give the US version a chance and watch it at some point. I heard it diverged from the UK one. So I may have to suffer through a few repeat like episodes, but I am hoping it gets better after that.

Not related to Netflix but I'm just picking up Spaced. I'm only halfway through series 1 but it appears to be a pretty unique type of show so far. I don't really know how to describe it.

A British geek sitcom? Well, sort of sitcom.

Yeah, that was about as far as I got but I wanted to steer clear of the sitcom word for some reason. After all, it's not 'Terry and June'.

Spaced is definitely in a class of its own. It's also such a funny and well put together show. I don't think sitcom at all when I watch it, it doesn't have that feel to it. Guess generally I'm anti-sitcom as well.
