Great Podcast Al and Bryan, learned a lot as you both had some great info to share. Been awhile since I have seen Alien, but want to go back and watch it again now.

I know, you can tell how frustrated I was having that name escape right when I needed it! So much so that I meant ot deleve into a brief description of the book and how it differed in some repspects from the screenplay but got totally sidetracked! In the novel, the ALIEN design hadn't been fleshed out sufficiently for Foster to really describe it's look or how it killed the crew. It's interesting to read the novel and then compare it to the film.

I downloaded the Ian Fleming audiobook from audible, then as a joke I watched the 1962 Sean Connery version. Wow, what a difference bewteen film and book!
Fantastic podcast chaps, really enjoyed the film break down and the trivia. You both really made me want to go back and watch this film. Seriously i cant wait for your coverage of Aliens.

Yes, we'll worth a listen. It works as well from the dynamic between the two of you as it does for the subject matter.
It's years since I've seen any of the Alien films (although the unmentionable one I've never seen was on TV last night). Very good background information coverage there guys.
Just finished it myself. One of the best guest casts I've had the privilege of listening to. You guys play off each other very well.
Al did such a great job on the production and Rick's song is so great.

"Alien" is such a textbook horror movie. Film school fodder. I remember seeing it in the theater and being on the edge of my seat. What was scary was the mystery of the creature. What I couldn't see scared the crap out of me.
I've usually watched "Aliens" over the years, but I need to go revisit the movie that started it all.

Ressurection is the only bad for me, I can find a lot I like about Finchners Alien3.
You know it might be a fun one to do as a group commentary like we did with that TNG episode awhile back.

I personally don't think so. I, and I'm pretty sure Bryan as well, really don't like Ressurection much and it would be difficult to present the movie in a way that wouldn't be purely negative...at least for me.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to Aliens, it's my favourite one.
I really enjoyed the Alien podcast guys, fantastic job. Gonna have to sit down and watch it again one of these days. I bet I haven't seen it in 20 years at this point.

Hi guys, i just listen to the podcast yesterday. it was a great podcast. I first saw Alien when I was in the 8th grade and I watch it on cable. it was one of my favorite movies at that time, I think I must have watched it four times or so. I did not think of it as a horror movie but as a sci-fi adventure movie with elements of horror in it. I remember first hearing about it in Ommi magazine, they did a pictorial on it at the time. hope you guys can do more podcast on the sequels latter on.
I plan on watching the "Aliens" making of tonight and tomorrow as the wife is away in preparation for a future cast...hint, hint, Al. :)

I'll need to take a look at the schedule. We've just started the Amazing Race - FastForward season, which typically eats up my Sunday-Tues (watching the show, write the script, record/edit), weekly...season should be over mid to end of April. I'll let you know this weekend Bry...
