Post by: Rico on January 27, 2012, 04:11:02 PM
This looks pretty cool and I hadn't heard much about it before I just saw the trailer.  Comes out on April 20th, 2012.

A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

Starring: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, Vincent Regan, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Yan Dron, Patrick Cauderlier, Milorad Kapor, Bojan Peric, Mark Tankersley

Wow, that looks like a fun movie. I like the idea of a prison in space, and some pretty crazy inmates.

Looks great!  I keep thinking Snake Plissken should be in this movie.

That does look good. I saw this trailer at IMBD but never looked at it because I didn't have a clue what it was. Maybe that should have been a reason to watch it. Glad you posted it here.

This is like Escape From New York - but in outer space.

Ooops, see you beat me to that observation.  :)

My Wife and I went to see this movie today. It was pretty much as I expected, and sort of could tell the budget on this was not very large. Plenty of action, pretty much the whole movie through was either fight sequences or people firing weapons. I had a two for one movie coupon, and don't think I would have paid anymore then that for this movie. Not bad, but not the most memorable movie either.

Thanks for the review Jeff.  I've heard some similar reviews elsewhere.

I saw the movie this afternoon and found it somewhat disappointing!  It seemed (in my opinion) very derivative of various movies I have seen in the past.

One point annoyed me the most was towards the end of the movie,
all the hostages, bar the President's daughter had been killed, the station was falling back to Earth and would have impacted on parts of the US. I know the President was a family man, but he would have rather have the station fall back to Earth, and kill many people, causing millions of dollars' worth of damage, rather than shoot down the station and save many lives on the ground!!  Can you imagine any inquiry after such an event...the President saying "I couldn't destroy the station because my daughter was on it!!"  Such a lame arse!
I'm going to watch this today. We picked it up at Redbox yesterday. It only cost me $1.50 for the blu-ray so lets see if it was worth it.
