Title: Nostalgia Critic does a Star Trek:The Motion Picture review
Post by: ChrisMC on January 14, 2012, 04:28:13 AM
His videos are pretty funny. He's doing a Star Trek month reviewing all of the 'odd' movies. *Warning* Naughty language off the port bow!

I've been watching the NC for a long while now, he's hilarious (though a bit language happy).

This should be a fun vid :)

Blacked out for SOPA protest.

Since I can't see that right now, I'll say I recently watched the Rifftrax version of Wrath of Khan.  Or at least the first 45 minutes of it.  After hearing so much about the guys that do Rifftrax and seeing all the comparisons to MST3K, I was shocked at how forced, unfunny, and simply dumb the commentary was.  I literally laughed once during the time I was watching.  I don't know if they were just having a bad day, and maybe some of the other films they've done commentaries for are way better, or if their sense of humor is just incompatible with mine, but I really didn't like it at all.

I laughed pretty hard in this one too.  Especially at the .21 jigawatts reference towards the end.  (or is it 2.1? Forgot x_x)

Search for Spock is a decent Star Trek film.  I have no problem watching it and I'm kinda surprised they got Doc to play it.

Lots and lots of practice.  He occasionally releases bloopers to his reviews.  I have no doubt he has lots of bloopers cracking the straight face xD

He also has a twin brother. I don't know how that's relevant to the converstaion...I just find twins creepy.

I nearly died at NC comparing Spock to a dog at one part.  Man these are good.

Yeah, he's doing pretty good with these. Geberations is next. I love the "Previously in the good Star Trek movie" bit.

Me too, but about all of the criticisms I've had with the movie he joked about. Particularly the bit where Picard wants to go back to rigth before the star blew up.

I loved the review, but I think NC just ruined Insurrection for me xD.  I never really saw those plot holes in there before, many I must have been blind when I watched this movie.  Alas, its been a long while since I watched the movies too...
