Oh yeah!

Ktrek

I decided to pass on the sampler as I intened on upgrading my set to Blu-Ray when it's released. I saw no reason to spend $15.00 just to temporarily satisfy my curiosity. The Original series was so well done that I'm sure the same care will be given to TNG. I do like the screen shots I have seen thus far though.

I have this on preorder from Amazon, it was 15 bucks, nice price! Wonder what the price point is for the season blurays.

Only a couple more days to go for this preview set!  Warming up my Blu-Ray drive on my PC to take some nice screencaps.

Here's a preview for the season one set (in German)....

Looks like season one will be coming maybe in the fall.  CBS plans to do two seasons a year or so for TNG.  Read on...

All seven seasons of TNG on Blu-ray by 2015 – other Trek series in consideration

In an interview with the official StarTrek site, CBS Home Entertainment General Manager Ken Ross talked about the TNG HD project. He said the release of the first season on Blu-ray is coming "late summer or early fall" of this year. He also promised it will include "a nice compliment of extras and some really cool stuff." Ross said the plan for rest of the series was to do "two seasons per year." If they keep with that schedule, the final set should be released in 2015.

Ross also talked about the scale of the entire project, saying:

It was and continues to be an enormous project that will take several years to complete. From a manpower perspective, we have more than 20 people working on this project full time in three shifts 24 hours a day. It's a huge commitment to transfer all seven seasons to high definition.

As for Enterprise, Voyager, and Deep Space Nine on Blu-ray, Ross said the focus was on TNG for now, but CBS will "certainly consider" bringing the other shows to HD.

Did not give it a very good shelf spot at Walmart, outside of the line of site you would expect for a new release. Unless the stockers knew you were coming Rick and wanted to make you have to do some looking :)

They probably did.  the lady behind the counter rolled her eyes when I told her how excited I was.

Thanks Rico, it was fun.

Ok, watched the entire disc.  All I can say is WOW.  Fantastic, so worth every penny.  I can hardly wait for the rest of the series.  I'm going to start saving my moola now.  SO GOOD!  The detail is rich and I saw stuff I had never seen before all the way down to the carpet on the Enterprise.  AMAZING!  And the special effects were really cool, especially the warp effect.

Ok, done raving.   :jawdrop

I really hope it arrives on Netflix sometime after its out.  There is no way I could afford the blu-ray version of TNG. xD.

Streaming or disc?

I think they will get streaming but not sure if it will be after each season release or after the whole series has been released. Read it somewhere....
