Good news possibly for all us Jericho fans  :spidey

In a story in today's New York Times by Brian Stelter who also runs the TVDecoder blog, it is suggested that CBS Paramount Television is in discussions with Comcast to save Jericho in a similar fashion as Friday Night Lights was saved by the DirecTV deal.

NBC liked DirecTV versus sticking it on a cable network because it felt that doing so would cannibalize 90% of the viewers who'd watch on NBC. DirecTV with less than 17 million subscribers is available to only about 15% of NBC viewers. As of Q4 2007, I believe Comcast was claiming more than 24 million subscribers between its basic and digital cable services, more subscribers than DirecTV, but not so many more that it should raise red flags around cannibalization.

I'm not sure CBS' broadcast networks will budge on airing Jericho again, even if it gets a subsidization deal. Still it has to be good news for Jericho fans that such discussions are even being considered.
