Rick could you let me know what you do to get the podcast on your site after you've recorded it. that would be helpful because i'm in the making of a site, and I wanted to make a podcast. Thanks a lot
1. Record it
2 FTP it to some web hosting account (make sure lots of bandwith and space)
3. Add the link and description to RSS feed.

and of course Rico
Spock pretty much said it. I use an FTP program to upload it called WS_FTP. Pretty simple to use to upload stuff. I use a program called Feed for All to create/update the .xml feed file that lists all the details of the shows, etc. This is the file that iTunes and other programs like iPodder use to "catch" the new shows. Hope this helps. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks a lot
no prob and good luck ;D
Oh and give us people a link to it when ya publish. Maybe Rico will even stick it in the podcast.
Ey ey. But It's not forsure that I'm will make a podcast.
Im sure youll be good. 8)
Well, now that I've realised that skype is free (and the perfect way to record a free podcast), I was wondering, Rick or anyone else who does a podcast, what are the exact programs and steps you take to getting your podcast on the site. Also if there are any programs you pay for, are there any alternative programs that are free.
Risky,
I use Audacity (free program) to record the main show. Then I edit it in that program, and musics, effects, etc. and save it in .mp3 format. Then I upload it to my website (which I do pay for). Good service and not too expensive. I use WS_FTP to upload it but there are many FTP programs to do that with. You need to create a feed for the show if you want it to auto download for folks like via iTunes. I use a program called Feed for all for that part. The rest is just Podcast Notes (I use Word Press now for that). It sounds like a lot, but it's not too bad. It can be almost free if you find a free web host. Libsyn (I think that is the name) is a service many use to host their shows. You might want to look into that one. Good luck! :)
K, I think I gotit. I downloaded Audacity. I am going to export what I record and edit as an MP3, and FTP it to my website. Then I am going to need to buy a program to create the RSS feed. I have ben looking around for the best, cheapest one, and I think the least expensive one with the best capability is Podcast Buddy (http://www.christolley.com/). Then I am going to go to iTunes and add my podcast to their browse thingy. Thanks for the help, and if I am doing anything wrong, please let me know.
Ill be on the look out fer it on iTunes
k, I am going to release it as soon as possible, however I am away this weekend, and it probably won't be until next weekend that I am able to record. The podcast is going to be called "Trekie Gamers".
Nice
Rick, I have eberything working, except for the album art. My podcast picture shows up fine on the subscribe page, but it doesn't show it in album art. I was wondering if you, or anyone, knows why.

The way I get it to work is load my Podcast into my iTunes (just add the file) and add the artwork to the audio file there. That will tag the file and update it so the art should show for your individual Podcasts. After you have it tagged, use that file to upload to the host.
Wats ur album art goin to look like?
Do you mean where it says "Drag Album Artwork Here"?
Yes.
but doesn't that just change the podcast pic for me?
Could you let me know how to do that again, I'm not sure if it worked or not?
Also when I am doing the podcast, there is a fuzz in the background from recording the ST sound clips. So I use the noise removal thing to clean that up, but when I convert the file to an Mp3, the fuzz is back again and I can't fix it. WHAT DO I DO? It worked fine on the first podcast, but with this one I can't seem to get it to work.
What kind of mixer are you using these days, Rick?

Eurorack 1000 I think is the model. I'll double check when I get home. Wasn't very much $ - and it works well.
I checked out the selection over at zZounds and was quite amazed. There's a DJ supply place here in town (surprisingly enough) that may have the Eurorack or something similar. If they do, that means I don't have to wait :-D
The precise model I have is the Eurorack UB1002. Think I bought it new online for about $60. :metallica:
Have you ever tried Dj-ing with that Rico.
really glad u got the podcast up. i love listening in. and may i say you are very chill.
