Well guys with this post I have officially made it to 1000 posts. I can't believe it. I post in other forums but nothing like I do in this forum. I have enjoyed chatting with every member in this forum. I know we are a small group but that is kind of nice. I chat with quite a few of you outside of this forum via YM or AIM and would consider all of you as friends. Just wanted to thank Rico first of all for creating such a great podcast and second for creating this wonderful community.
Congrats to you, I hope to get there eventually, but it will take a lot of time and effort. Happy 1000th
Thanks for all your help Kenny & for being such a great influence on the forums. I'm really happy with the way things are going here.
"1000 posts.....a milestone of geek achievment or a cry for help? You decide!"
LOL! I'm always conflicted when I look at my post count on various forums and alwaus have that thought!
Congrats Kenny. I enjoy hearing your take on all things SciFi etc. Again Congrats!
Hey Kenny
Your posts are always nice and enthusiastic, I enjoy reading them.
Grats on 1000!
congrats! What a milestone. :cheers
Good job Kenny, looking forward to 1000 more. On a side note, why does the "Captain" insignia on here only have three pips? Shouldn't it have four? And I could be wrong but I thought that Lt. Commander was one black pip and two gold, while Commander was three gold.
On the pip count thing I set it up like this. I found a set of pips that I liked and wrote down a nice spread of ranks. Then I took each pip in the sequence and assigned a rank to it, then the next and so on. I know they don't really fit exactly to "Trek" conventions, but it's just a fun little forum thing I thought.

That's cool, it's one of my favorite features of the forums, very neat.
I'm just going to start posting like crazy to get a promotion!!
Kudos, Kennny!! Thanks for all your posts. I need to catch up!!!
I would like to welcome our token "girl" on the forums to the 1000+ club... Congrats Jen. Thanks for all your contributions to the forum and very big thanks for becoming my co-runner of the RPG game.
In the immortal words of Hailey Berry "You like me...you really like me!" :D
Token Girl? Hummm...it has a nice ring to it. Thanks for the welcome. :)
Congrats Jen! And yes - thanks so much for all your work and hopefully fun on the forums. We do have a couple of other women here, but obviously we see Jen the most and appreciate her added girl geekness here to keep us guys in line! ;)
Congrats Jen on the Milestone, look forward to you next 1000 posts
congrats to the both of you I hope to join the 1000 post club eventually
woo hoo for Jen! You rock! It is great having you on the boards. You are very fun and have a lot of cool insight.
I am just excited because very soon I will have 777 posts.
Yes!
Congrats. (Of course, I'm only posting to raise my own number of posts.)
I should have put every word in a different post. (Not really.)
Quite agree. We need more girl geeks. Congratulations Jen. :D
This is my 1000th post! I have achieved this particulat milestone on only 2 other froum, The RPF and BeginnerTriathlete, where I have been a participant for a much longer time, so this is special. I joined up here on August 2nd, 2006 and I post here more often than anywhere else, sharing the love with the Trek's family. :wub
Just 1000 more and I can catch Kenny!
Good for you Bryan. I enjoy your comments - even if I don't always agree with them. ;)
Congrats on making 1000 Bryan, really enjoy reading your posts, as you have a lot of good insight.

Duh, kenny, who recently had 2000? I have to go back and check who that was. Thanks everybody!
Are you talking about meeeeee?
Congrats Bryan. Repeat after me "Hi, I'm Bryan and I'm a postaholic"
:)
Congrats sir! I'm already over halfway there myself.

No kidding, we need a support group for rampant posting!
Congratulations, man! :)
I hit 1000 posts so that makes me the 8th Fleet Admiral. Its been a pleasure being on these forums as they give me something to do online other than homework or World of Warcraft. I have to say, idk who's post it was, but someone said: "Rico's podcast is the best Trek podcast because it is released weekly (unlike most podcasts), is entertaining and fun each week." All I can say, is YES. It is always great to see Itunes downloading the new episode of the week and I have yet to be disappointed. It is just too darn bad it doesn't pay Rico, then you could quit your day job. ::) ;D ;D :biggrin heh heh Otherwise, all I can say is keep it up because there is someone out there listening.
I also have to say, that I absolutely love the RPG. It is unique compared to everything I have seen and is probably the only reason I stayed on this forum when I first started. Nowadays, that and of course all this great news posted by Kenny and others keeps me coming back twice or more a day. :) The RPG is definately gaining in strength and all I can see is good things to come.
I'm probably one of the most out-spoken people here and tend to trip on myself or accidentally push a border of comfort. I guess I have too much passion about some topics. I apologize for past and future mistakes ;). Sadly, I still need to L2TYPE! haha. (Learn to type).
This is a great community and we have one man to thank for it. I don't know what started this idea Rico, but all I can say, is that it is the best thing you ever thought of. But I'm sure you knew that. :)
So, as I always say!

Congrats, Fleet Admiral Linksr!
Congratulations Tim and Billybob. Don't let those bars on your sleeve go to your head... ;)
Congrats to all the posters. I'm very happy for the great folks here. I've always said that a tight knit, great group of folks who get along is much more enjoyable than tons of people who don't really know each other or have much in common. But even with that, we do continue to steadily grow and expand. So tell your geek friends to join our merry little band!
Congrats Tim and BillyBob on your promotion to Fleet Admiral. Sooner or later I will get there but with working on computers all day every day and 4 kids...well..I post when I can.
I did want to say though, regardless of post count, these forums and this community are the best Rico and they are always my first stop when I am online.
Thanks all, a number is just a number but I'm glad that I can find so many opportunities to contribute to the conversation! All I can hope is that sometimes I say something that makes some degree of sense.
Congrats both, i've a long way to go.
Ditto on the congrats!
Yeah! Congrats!
Bish bosh, bosh and bish i do believe i have hit the 1000 mark. So very happy to have made such good friends here on this forum, thank you all for making me feel welcome and i look forward to chatting with you all and making the 2000 mark.

Cheers boys, beer all round :)
Way to go Meds. I still got quite a way to go to get to 1000.
I know what you mean Sheppard. It's almost like reaching for the impossible dream......like trying for Olympic gold.....Like us Brits who for once are near the top of the medal table....pride...courage.....never giving up :'(
Showing guts.... Oh, sorry. Got a little bit proud there. Sorry, we're just not used to this success.
Our green and noble land, the white cliffs of dover, the union flag flying high, tears drip at the thought of Captain George Mainwaring winning the 100 meters ah, what a time to be fan of team GB. I raise my gold 1000+ medal high.
I've been a forum member for 7 months so you'll get there Sheppard it flies by, Tim well down south in them there Brighton waves you're more laid back than us Brummies (and thats saying something) so it may take you a bit, bit, bit longer. ;)
Ah yes Meds, you whisper many truths young Northener, but once us Southerners get the bit between our teeth, we shall never give in, till the last man we shall fight to reach the distant dream that is the thousandth post. I for one shall stand up and be counted........ One.
Come on Meds, recognise the comedy quote? ;)
Congrats Meds on the Milestone
Must... post... more... often...
Congrats Meds! I'm not too far behind you to join the club myself. I probably would be there already but I have had so many other things going on I have had to be very selective about what I reply to; although I read almost every post! :)

It's a 'British' thing Jen! ;)
I have just become the latest member of this esteemed club. I took me just over two and a half years but I got there in the end. I always find myself dipping in and out of the forums as my mood takes me. Sometimes I won't log on for a few weeks and then all of a sudden I'll spend a couple of days catching up and replying to various posts.
I still listen to the podcast almost religiously though and I consider many of you friends. I'm going to try and get to 2000 posts a lot quicker than the first thousand but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Thanks to everyone who helped me get this far and putting up with my strange little English ways. Big love to you all. :cheers
Great news Tim! The place wouldn't be the same without you! I love following you on Twitter too! CONGRATS!

Hoorah Tim, Hoorah. :-)
I thought I would bump up this old post to commemorate my 1000th post here at my favorite forum in the world. Looking at folks here with 4000, 8000, 15k+ posts, 1000 may not seem like much in comparison. But believe me, for a relatively quiet person like myself that doesn't in general have a whole lot to say about much of anything, I look back at 1000 posts as something of an accomplishment.
I've never really said it before, but the fact is, over the fifteen years or so that I've been plugged in to the internet, I've joined quite a number of forums. Those accounts come and go, usually languishing in disuse after a few days or so. Only Treks In Sci fi captured my attention, and left me wanting and needing to check in every day. Days I can't take a look and see what you guys are up to and talking about are days that I truly feel like something is missing.
There's two reasons for this: one is Rico. Ric, your dedication to this site and the podcast has been an inspiration and has truly added something important to my life. Your focus on the community and family here is what makes the site so special, and different than every other Trek or Sci Fi specialty website out there. From the day you did your first "fan focus" interview with me way back in the early days of the podcast, I knew there was something unique about this place. Thank you so much for everything you do every day.
The second reason is all the forum regulars. I won't name names for fear of leaving anyone out...but just know that this group of people is something special. A bunch of disparate personalities from all walks of life, brought together by a love of fantasy and science fiction, that all get together to reminisce, dream, critique, chat, joke, laugh, and cry. In a world where people are so freaking cynical, and so mean to each other, this place has become a haven. So thanks to all of you as well.
I don't mean to be so corny, but just wanted to express how much y'all mean to me. thanks.
Congrats Joby! I'm a little over half way there myself! :)
Jobey, I feel the same way. CONGRATS MY FRIEND!
How awesome.
Great job Joby.. You can be corny as much as you want.. we're all family here.. we don't mind :)
Very nice post Joby and welcome to the big leagues! ;)
