I found a article on Comicvine that says the new Joss Whedon show for A.B.C. is based on Shield! I'll post more later.
link to story.

They didn't mention a timeframe for the show so they mentioned a possible return for Agent Coulson if it takes place before the movie.
This would be interesting. I guess this may be where they got the rumour about the show not being based around super heroes but we might see cameos.
Doubt they'll be able to get Samuel L. Jackson to sign up for this unfortunately.
Could be interesting. Not at all the direction I thought the show would develop but it makes sense.
Kevin
They could have cameos of many characters but even Iron Man in his suit. And there are alot of characters to choose from. Matbe they could get Jackson just to do voice work like giving the agents missions. That could be cool. I do hope they keep it around the time frame of the movies.
Here is a article talking about some new actors for this series.

As long as it stays on ABC and away from FOX, I'll sleep easy.
Good point.
Woohooo.. ABC just announced that this pilot was picked up for a series next fall.. released a cast picture.. can't wait.
Looking foward to this.
The only problem this show will have is that Coulson is in it. This will keep it dated pre Avengers unless he goes after the first season....
Dan - you know that no one ever stays dead in the world of comics. :)

It's no spoiler because it's part of the series notes. This takes place after the Avengers Movie.
Darn, I was kind of hoping the rumors about Coulson being reborn as the Vision were true. Guess not.
You never actually saw Coulson's dead body in the movie, did you? Entirely possible that Fury asked a favour of him (and his Captain America trading card collection)? They needed the push, after all...
Looks more and more interesting as we see it fleshed out.
Just saw the first commercial during one upon a time
THIS IS EPIC!!!!!!

It's based off of comic book physics in a world where men can put on tons of weight and height and take it off instantly. It's a world where scrawny kids can be made into perfect humans. It's a world where Gods walk the lands. I don't see how getting stabbed once in one of the most advanced bases in the world means that you're going to die. I can also see how having him "dead" would motivate the team.
As I said previously, no one ever really "dies" in the world of comics.
One conceivable way that Coulson could be in the show is that there could be many clones of Coulson and we only saw one version of Coulson die.
Oh and the trail makes this actually look fun!
I don't care how he's back, HE'S BACK! We will get the explanation and all move on to possibly the geekiest TV show ever.
I know all this, huge comic book guy myself. I just think it lessens his for in the role in the Avengers movie a little. In that movie he died and it his death was a major factor in the team working together. I like the character and I'm sure he will be a great fit for this show but I feel the main reason they've added him here is so people associate this show with the Avengers franchise.

I get what you're saying, but in the very same scene where we're told he died, we're also told that Nick Fury has no problems lying about things to motivate the team. For me, it doesn't cheapen the role at at, it enforces how far Nick is willing to go for the Avengers Initiative to work.
Good point. Hopefully they will make a good job on the details of his resurrection.
Here's the full trailer for the upcoming series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Count me in as excited for this. Was looking for a show to get really excited about since Fringe ended, this looks to be the one for me.
I hope Disney keeps this around for a while. Looks like its going to be really good.

This is going to be a good show!
I didn't make it into the panel for this show but many of my friends did and they showed the pilot and they loved it. Said it's pretty amazing and very Joss-esqe. I can't wait for it.
Well based on the trailer it looks less likely that Coulson is going to be reborn as the Vision but somehow actually survived his injuries from the Avengers movie. I'm glad he's in this show but disappointed too since I thought he would have been awesome as the Vision.

Can't wait for this one! I heard the pilot is amazing!
WOW! That was really, really good.
Yeah it was. Very Joss Whedon. I want a Lola!
It was a good first episode - a little too cute in places. I know its 8pm so it can't take itself too seriously. Quite a few sub-plots.
I enjoyed it quite a bit, it was fun show, a bit cheesy in spots, but that is ok, as I don't get the feeling it is going to be really heavy. I like the team they assembled as well. They look like they have some really nice sets, and good production values as well.
I felt that they rushed the ending a bit, as they did not get much into that mysterious organization that created that centipede tech. The scenes they were in, with the female scientist, and the fellow disguised as a police officer, they did not seem very organized to be a threat to SHIELD. They crammed a lot into the episode, I think they could have done a two hours and fleshed it out a bit more, but still really liked this.
I think the idea is they were just setting some stuff up and will continue the storyline through the season. I personally loved the writing and fun factor in the show.
It totally surpassed my expectations. I loved it! :thumbsup
Very good show, even though the local news station broke in at the beginning, and I'll probably watch it again this weekend on Hulu.
I really enjoyed all the things they used and talked about from the movies. And Lola was very cool. I also hope that Maria Hill shows up a lot.
For a pilot episode this was very well done, and if the series continues on this level it will probably be one my favorite shows in years. I really enjoyed it. Very fun show!
Kevin
Very well done. I like it a lot. But there's no Robert Downey Jr., so I'll have a hard time selling the wife on it...
Lola is awesome. Everyone needs one. Can't wait to see where it goes from here...
Good first episode. I kind of agree it was a little too "funny" in places but that's Joss' style I suppose. Coulson being a lead character is going to take some getting used to for me but overall a good show :-)
Jamie and I watched it and thought it was ok, she didn't seem too bored. There were some fun moments of dialogue and some clunkers. Kind of feels like Hero's first season mixed with MIB. We'll keep watching, although we are also re-watching Firefly and I have to say Joss has never been able to replicate that lightning in a bottle, Agents of Shield is no Firefly by a long shot.

I must be the only person in existence that can take or leave Firefly. Never really found it that special. :)
We are one episode in and it seems like a fun series. I thought some people would enjoy a less dark, more light hearted superhero type show at this point. Oh, and Dan, Firefly is awesome! The cast, the writing, the whole thing, it's exceptional. But I also think it's a very American style of show which might be part of the reason it might go over better on this side of the pond. :)
I loved it, going to be one of my must watch shows this fall.
I'm glad to see they're prolonging the mystery of Coulson's "resurrection". It seems clear to me he has powers, judging from the way he dodged that exploding car door in the pilot. I am still holding out for him as the Vision. He looks just like him from the comics, if he was green red and yellow.

ooh yeah, I loved that "He can never know" mysteriousness. I took it to mean he wasn't human anymore or something like that. A new body or something?
Yeah, Firefly was awesome. I was skeptical at first but watched it years later and was blown away. I was also heartbroken when Dollhouse got the axe. :'(
Possible spoilers, but mostly speculation
I think Coulson is a LMD. Life Model Decoy. Basically androids that look and act like specific people to keep them out of harms way. There are a few that have become aware and their own people.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Model_Decoy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Model_Decoy)
Wow, that would be a great callback to the comics. I think Nick Fury made a practice of using those.
I think that theory is more likely than the former one. I would like to see that character though, he's a huge favourite of mine.
Some new pics online for the upcoming next couple of episodes. Is it just me, or does Skye look like she is wearing a Wonder Woman bracelet here? Yeah, wrong comic universe I know, but it sure looks like that.

we liked it.
Can't wait to watch ep 2! Not sure how I'll watch it...hopefully abc offers streaming online like the pilot.
Another good episode. Make sure to watch to the very end!
Never thought I would see that in episode 2. Maybe towards the end of the season maybe... I hope we see more...
yep, it was a good episode. i did kinda think fury would show up , lol i mean the plane is a lot of money.
it is cool to see they are using refences(sp) to comics and the movies.
I liked episode 2 even better. Very cool.
It's nice to have an action adventure/spy type of show on the air again now that "Chuck" is gone.

I agree! I'm enjoying this alot so far
I enjoyed this episode as well. I like how it's kind of tongue-in-cheek without being cheesy or too campy. Love the ending scene.
Kevin
I also really like this show. The wife is not getting into it though. Loved the ending of Episode 2.
I really enjoyed this episode as well, team is starting to come together. Coulson seems a touch off of normal, which I suspect is by design.
I'm definitely thinking Coulson is off.
I remember someone hearing "You died", and later in the episode, Coulson himself said he used to be able to dismantle a gun and something about "muscle memory". I wasn't a subscriber to the LMD theory, but I'm thinking it's more and more a possibility.
Yeah, they dropping a lot of hints about Coulson. Another fun episode this week.
Still think this is a fun show!
Last night was an excellent show. I like how the writing isn't so stupid.
I only hope the Skye character develops beyond being snarky, that was old in the first episode.
Full season of "S.H.I.E.L.D."

Yep saw that news last night. Not a surprise really but I hope they can maintain the quality over a whole 22 episodes. I really don't mind the short seasons popularized by the basic cable channels like AMC and FX, with 10-14 episodes of higher quality than most regular network's shows. It allows for more variety to get on the air, and makes things easier for the writers.
This is by far my favorite of the new TV series. I'm loving every episode and with every new episode I'm super excited for the next. Last nights episode was amazing.. can't wait to see where they take this story.
Still need to watch this weeks episode. Enjoying this very much. The wife however has gone on to other things.

You're not alone, man.
I go even farther in that I'm basically allergic to Joss Whedon. The more control he has over a show or movie, the less I enjoy it and since he had basically complete creative control over his early successful work, I was nowhere near it.
Avengers was a turning point in that it was Whedon working as a hired gun on somebody else's characters and script, so it turned into a movie I liked. Even so, I could almost smell at times scenes that pushed almost too far for me.
The new SHIELD show seems like a further development along this line. Whedon is involved, but not in complete control, so it's thus far a show I'm enjoying. We'll see how it goes in the future.
Who watched the latest episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. last night? This is finally the episode that for me really clicked. It used the team well, had some solid character drama, and I even got a little misty in a few parts. Really enjoyed it! Promo for it below...

I hope it does. That's the one big thing I think this show is missing, it just doesn't feel like Marvel. They need more Marvel universe tie-ins and stories. Otherwise is just feels like another government agency investigating strange events. It's good, but I just haven't felt like I'm watching a show actually about Marvel Universe Shield yet.
I agree, awesome episode. The jump rescue was cheesy and ridiculous but I didn't mind. That's some good tv watchin'. Good to finally get some personal stuff with Fitz/Simmons.

Yeah, I don't care that it's not a superhero show, it just doesn't have that Marvel to it. The pilot did, but Joss wrote it, and you can tell that he's no longer involved. It's an OK watch, but I really want it to kick in! Arrow is still the best comic book show on TV.
The "non-Marvel" thing to me is only really in relation to the films and doesn't bug me. It's still a fun little show and enjoyable to watch. But yeah, "Arrow" has it going on!
I'm enjoying this one so far but haven't yet worked out how far ahead of us you are. One episode? Two?

I'm enjoying this one so far. Nothing to deep and heavy but a fun show. I like a bit of escapism.
That sandwich sounded pretty good
mmmm
Still watching but not jumping up and down waiting in anticipation every week.
Need to catch Tuesday's episode which is the Thor: The Dark World tie in. I have been enjoying these and I would like to see more Marvel tie in things. I really like it when they bring up things based on the movies and characters.
Enjoyed this weeks episode and one of my favorite parts was when the plane they use turned in midair, after it stopped!!! Very cool.
Yeah, the show is growing on me a little each episode. I like the characters and cast so that helps quite a bit.
Bah! It doesn't seem to have come back yet on this side of the Atlantic.

I thought episodes 11 and 12 were very good. I especially liked....
the revelation about Skye finding out that several SHIELD agents gave their lives to protect her. I guess we'll find out what kind of powers she has that justified that sacrifice. I really liked the sfx of Coulsen with his brain exposed and him screaming "let me die! Let me die!"
Show is getting steadily better. Last episode was both awesome and hard to watch what happened too. Off for a couple weeks now, but Lady Sif coming in early March.

No - not the season finale. They still have 5 episodes left to this current season to show.
Yep. It's gotten so much better, looking forward to see what is gonna be.
We're two episodes behind you guys but the last few have really started to heat up a little and ask a few questions I want answered.
Up to now it's been a bit of fun that I could take or leave but I'm reaching the point where I want to know what's going on. Sticking with this one to the end.
Two episodes behind for me with the finale I believe coming out tomorrow. This has been renewed by ABC.

Looks like we get a great guest star tonight! I cannot wait for the finale this evening, I've read some spoiler-free reviews of it and it looks like it's going to be a great one!
Really good episode for the season finale (loved the guest star). The show has really grown a lot this year. Very happy it will be back next fall.
Yep really good ending to a great season.
Now that Agent Carter has been greenlit, I can see some possible crossovers. I can see some SHIELD stories referencing something that happened in Agent Carter. I could see Baron Strucker being introduced in one show and an older version appearing in the other...
EDIT:
I forgot Strucker was already in Cap 2.
I really like this series and thought the finale was awesome. Very much looking forward to Season two!! Agent Carter should be a good one as well.

Season two premiere episode was awesome! This series has gotten to be one of my favorites! Really great stuff if you love the Marvel Universe.
Wow, an ACTUAL Marvel villain. This seems like almost a completely different show than the one that started last year.
Season 1 grew on me as it went through. I haven't heard anything about season 2 coming here yet though. I'd better go and check the listings just in case!
Really liked their take on Absorbing Man. Hope they continue with the canon characters.
I enjoyed "Agent Carter" but I'm super pumped that SHIELD is finally back next week!
Cool looking poster.
