A new series of STAR WARS came out this week featuring characters from the original trilogy!! This takes place soon after this happened :dstar and you will see :r2d2 and :vaderxmas without the Santa cap though but you probably wont be seeing :fettrotj but our heroes are sure to run into a bunch of these :trooper I cant wait to dig into this series! It is supposed to be an ongoing series probably until they lose the rights to publish. At $2.99 you have to get it!
But this won't be able to run very long, right? Won't the comic rights shift to Marvel after this year?
I'm not sure when Marvel takes over. I need to check on that.
Dark Horse publishing rights are over at the end of this year. I didn't see an official date for Marvel to take over but I'm sure they will.
Here is a short blog by the writer of the new STAR WARS series Brian Wood.

I picked up this book too. Classic trilogy and I'm there! Oh, check my thread on the Marvel Star Wars gig.

I heard this sold out in less then 24 hours.. guess I can always try Ebay.
They had several copies at my local comic shop over last weekend. If I see it again I'll grab a copy for you Kenny.
Speaking of hard-to-find Star Wars goodies...
My (almost) local comic book shop has a "Revenge Of The Jedi" poster... Haven't seen one of those in, oh, 30 years, now?
Second printing coming in February of issue #1.
So how is the comic?

Just read it this evening. Good book, nice art. Set pretty much after the Battle of Yavin as the Rebels search for a new base. It's great to see the classic characters in a new comic again. Definitely going on my monthly pull list.
Issue two came out this past Wednesday.
I have issue one on order!
I really enjoyed issue one, hope we get a good amount of issues in this series.

Well, probably only until Disney gives Dark Horse the boot and moves to Marvel for SW comics. That day is coming fast.
Dark Horse kept Star Wars alive in the "Dark Times". It's a shame they have to lose the license.
And they were well compensated for it. :)
Damn, you all kinds of cold, jive turkey. Hope Marvel keeps it going then.
Any luck on finding issue one Rico? I think the 2nd and 3rd print has already sold out.
I just picked up Issue 2 on Amazon for $6.
I missed issue #2 and Jeremy said he ordered one for me along with Star Trek magazine. I had forgotten to put Star Wars on my pull list, but its on there now!
Picked up number 2 today, this series is alot of fun. Funny that it hadn't been done in this time frame since the 80's.
Up to issue #4 already!
I like this series alot so far. That's kind of an odd looking Vader...but I always give Alex Ross a pass now and then.
I'm really liking the covers of these comics so far. Here's the latest issue:
Another new issues out this week.
Nice cover on the most recent issue that I picked up today.
These look really good - I'll have to check them out. I am not usually a comic book reader.
