Title: The Clone Wars - TV Series
Post by: Geekyfanboy on September 02, 2008, 10:16:15 AM
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Premieres Oct. 3
Source: Cartoon Network
September 2, 2008

"Star Wars: The Clone Wars," the first weekly television series from Lucasfilm Animation, premieres on Cartoon Network Friday, October 3 at 9 p.m. (ET, PT) with a special one-hour presentation that anchors the network's all-new night of fantasy, action and adventure. New series "The Secret Saturdays" and the current hit "Ben 10: Alien Force" join "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" for a night of non-stop adventure, exciting storytelling and innovative animation.

In the signature style of Lucasfilm Animation, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" chronicles the adventures of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Ahsoka Tano and other favorite "Star Wars" characters as they struggle against the dark side during the divisive, action-packed Clone Wars. Each week, a new story in the galaxy-changing Clone Wars comes to center stage, brought to the screen by supervising director Dave Filoni and executive producer George Lucas.

Dwindling numbers of Jedi fight to maintain freedom and restore peace to the galaxy, using their army of genetically engineered clones against the seemingly never-ending droid army. The terrible conflict grows wider as our heroes are swept into the turmoil of war, while the evil Count Dooku, his assassin Asajj Ventress, their master Darth Sidious, the mechanical General Grievous and a rogue's gallery of never-before-seen villains scheme to defeat them.

Cartoon Network's new night of fantasy-adventure programming begins at 8 p.m. (ET, PT) with the series premiere of a new comedy-action series, "The Secret Saturdays," from Cartoon Network, Porchlight Entertainment and creator Jay Stephens, about a family of world-saving adventure scientists. Doc, Drew and Zak Saturday live in a hidden base and are part of a network of scientists who protect against all the underlying evil in the world. To the Saturdays, ordinary folktales aren't just legends, but real-life mysteries and adventures. Traveling from the Gobi Desert to the Marianas Trench, they explore ancient temples and bottomless caves and tangle with twisted villains, including the masked madman V.V. Argost and his half-human/half-giant spider.

Very cool, I am looking forward to it , but don't understand why the movie critics in Canada did not like the movie.

That would be cool. 8)

To me, that's the beauty of both this series and the upcoming live-action show-  there is an opportunity for the writers to flesh out all of the supporting characters in the Star Wars universe.

I think a lot of the critics had the same problem that some of the fans had- they went to the theatrical showing of Clone Wars thinking that they were going to see Star Wars: Episode 2.5, and ended up comparing it to the 6 live action films.  Which is unfair; kind of like comparing apples to oranges.

Clone Wars isn't Episode 2.5, it is an introduction to an ongoing TV series.  Personally, I think that it was very well executed.   I liked most of what I saw, and I'm eagerly anticipating the weekly series.

Same Here, I very rarely agree with critics as they seem to be overly critical of Sci-fi movies in general. I also wonder how much of the critics reviews were based on the fact that it was an animated feature as well.

Yep!  I love how they are slowly and steadily incorporating elements of the original trilogy.  It provides a nice, smooth transition from ep III to ep IV.   ;D

I am very excited about the series. The first Clone Wars were a blast and a cool tie in with Episode III.

If they stick to the animation standards they set on the movie, the series should be good.

Plus, Lucas isn't directing and that's always good. Heh!

However, I am more the sure the first episode of Clone Wars will be plastered all over bit torrent within an hour of it airing.

Not to spin off topic - but you do know Limewire is just another torrent tracking service/downloader right?  It works the same way via peer sharing.

Well, I enjoyed the first two episodes.  I really liked the Yoda part where he was talking to each of the Clone Troopers.  They seemed to be trying to make Yoda much more like "Empire Strikes Back" era Yoda in this episode.  They are putting maybe a bit too much droid humor in it, but I'm sure little kids love that stuff.  Overall, I think they are off to a good start.  Looking forward to talking about it more today on the Skype call.

I too really enjoyed these. So much so that I watched them with Catherine first, then with the boys later when they got home.

I liked the first one for the Yoda scene (the one you talked about Rico) and him doing his Jedi stuff.  Cool.

I liked the second one for it's more serious tone- and anytime you get to hang out in space and see all the cool ships, gadgets and battles, well, that is simply awesome.  Great stories, excellent character development.

I really like how they are exploring how a clone feels- the expendable crewman.  Some of the folks care for them, others don't.  That is pretty deep.

I am overall very impressed by this.  Can't wait for more!

Finally had a chance to watch them last night and really enjoyed it. Yoda was more an ESB Yoda and I loved his speech to the clones while the ESB music palyed in the background. Cool to see the Tydorian home world as well. The second episode was much more gritty and I finally get Plo Kloon, he's actually a cool character as envisioned here.

I just watched the first episode again and have more positive comments. What made Yoda so great was...his laugh. We haven't heard that since ESB. It made him so much more real, much more than in the prequels. You realize this ancient, wise master is like a kid at heart. Once he is in battle, all the seriousness drops away and he is young, like we never saw him but can now imagine him. He FEELS so deeply about everything...the tree, the rock, the clone, the birds, the beauty of the universe, the sublime power of the Force, Yoda's casual command over Ventress, wonderful.
I also liked seeing more of the Toydarians, they became a much more honorable species as opposed to the greedy one we had with Watto. In one episode I learned as much about the Star Wars Universe as I have in an entire film.
I LOVE THIS SHOW.
Tomorrow I am going to watch the second episode again and love it even more.

Well I was finally about to sit down before work today and watch the first two episodes on this series... I LOVED THEM...

What a great way to start the series with a Yoda episode. And as many have said this was the ESB Yoda.. when he gave his speech to the clones about how special each one was and with the music, not even realizing it I had tears in my eyes.. it amazes me that a cartoon can move me so much but then again it's Star Wars and Star Wars has always been very special to me.

Episode two was fun.. gotta to see more of the Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship which I really enjoyed from the movie.

I can't wait for more of this series.. I'm so excited that I'll get 30 minutes (well 22 minutes) of Star Wars goodness each week.

As I posted in the shoutbox, I only saw the first ep. They didn't do the back to back thing on CTV in Canada. The Yoda episode was AMAZING. I really enjoyed it. As others have said, they poured on the droid humour a little think, but I think that's there for the kids.

The one thing that bugged me about the driods was their incompetence. They are slow to respond to orders, they're bad shots, etc etc. You'd think as robots they'd at the very least be attentive to orders. The commander should have to repeat himself to machines.

That aside, if the series stays like this it'll be amazing!

I just want to say since it's been brought up so much, the Battle Droids. I don't think this was a wise idea. First, much of the audience was adults. I know it's a kid's show, but I don't think kids are stupid, I don't think the writers need to talk down the droids so much. Kid's like the Star Wars films, kids like Doctor Who and neither of those really talk down to children at all (excluding Jar Jar). I think it could be better made as a family show honestly then a kids show (Sure it's an animation, but look how many of us watch it and I don't think animation is limited to just children anyway). The show would get the wider audience and are more likely to pick up people who aren't as big fans of Star Wars whose children may watch the show.

I missed the episode last night (when it airs in Canada). I poked around and honestly now I'm annoyed.

Here's the thing. I know I live in Canada. I know there's DMCA rules blah blah etc.

I really like this show, I know I can go to bittorrent and get it, but I'd rather not for some reason.

I go to cartoonnetwork.com. I can't view the video because "It's not available in all areas"

I go to starwars.com, same result.

I go to iTunes, it is not available for download on the Canadian iTunes store.

I know it's not on Hulu but I can't watch anything from there either (The Office, SNL, etc). Same with any videos on Sci Fi.

I know I can set up a proxy and spoof my source IP to originate in the US but I refuse to do it. I get Clone Wars here, I PAY MONEY to get NBC shows here. Why should I have to do end runs around security measures to watch things I pay for already.

Honestly it just makes me angry. I don't live in Zimbabwe, I live in Canada. I can drive to the US in 45 minutes. I WANT to get this stuff legally. But I can't. Fine, I'll go to bittorrent and "illegally" download it.

Grrr.

Yeah they do re-run them, I'll catch it. No worries. It just makes me mad that I can't get to media because I live and hour north of Buffalo. The thing that really gets me is iTunes. They REALLY drag their asses pushing new content to stores aside from the US one. That just doesn't make sense to me whatsoever.

Another great episode this Friday. Some more adult language and content and Iliked the new Commando Battle Droids, a bit more professional.

I agree.. I have the same issue with British TV shows.. I think if they air on public TV, once they have aired they should be available online for everyone to download.

Do you mean aired on public TV 'in your country of residence' or anywhere in the world? In your case, I assume you mean once the shows have aired in the US rather than over here?

I only ask as in the specific case of the BBC (which is is publically funded), as one of those who funds it I would still expect an export revenue stream to be available for the stuff they make even after they've been shown over here. Once they have been shown, then I agree that some form of download could be appropriate, but I'm not sure for how long that should be available. (Personally, I'd like access to it at all times  but again, as a licence fee payer, I'd at least like them to consider how best to maximise revenue...and minimise my licence fee)

Just seen episode 1 coutesy of Kenny ( Ahem ) and I am shocked at how good this is. So much like the original films and not like the child friendly ( sorry marketing ) films we've come to expect from this franchise. Yoda is perfect and i love the way Dooky looks.

I finally got to see episode 5, and this is hands-down my favorite episode so far!  The way the clones were portrayed as unique individuals was very well done, and the action scenes were very well executed.   It was kind of funny hearing Obi-Wan go on and on about what a great soldier Cody is, especially considering what happens with Order 66.  And I like how Rex recruited the "Shines" into the 501st.  Cool stuff.  ;D

I finally get to contribute to this thread, as we finally got caught up with the episodes here in Canada last night. I must say I am really liking this series, it is a lot of fun, I like the clones a lot, they have a lot of character like wraith said. Really like these episode with Grievous as well. These things look Fantastic on HD, that is why I hold off on trying to find them online before they air up here.

I'm probably the last person on the planet (or elsewhere) to see this.  I avoided the movie like the plague, but last night decided to give this show a chance.

I still think the character models are awful (I made better 15 years ago when I was doing such things), but the stories and voice actors are great!  It's one of those things I can just get into, enjoy the ride, & forget about the world for a while.

So I give it an unexpected thumbs up!

Loved last night's episode.. I'm a huge R2 fan so I was looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. And of course when it ended I jumped from the couch and yelled no....I like that they are doing continuing story over a few episodes as well as having stand alone episodes. I love getting my dose of Star Wars every week.

Still loving this series.. tonight was a great conclusion of the R2 story.. this one was lots of fun.. When R2 and the other astro droid were on that bridge it reminded me of The Black Hole...

And we finally get a Jar Jar Binks episode next week.. when I saw that I told Harry "oh the fans are going to love this" :)

Ok....I won't deny that this is already my least favorite Clone Wars Episode.  But then again, I've never like Jar Jar and this episode really didn't shed a better light on him.  It more or less felt...off.  I don't know, but it just....argh, I can't describe it.

Thumbs down.  But admittedly I'm biased so.....anyone else have a thought?

I'll chime in.

This week was horrid.

The animations was great, the music, everything, but it stuck out like a sore thumb.  Maybe little kids enjoy Jar Jar, but honestly it didn't even hold my attention after the first few minutes of him on the screen.  I wanted him to be really dead at the end, and of course I knew he couldn't be.  darn those prequels.

I liked C3PO, I hope he gets his own themed show.  And I enjoyed Padmae (SP?)  But Jar Jar is simply silly.  but I digress...

What did you guys expect?? When I saw the preview and saw that Jar Jar was going to be in it I knew it was going to be a silly/fun/kid episode and sure enough it was. Knowing that both Harry and I just sat back and enjoyed the episode. I thought this episode was exactly what it was suppose to be a fun silly episode for the kids to enjoy. Not all of these episodes can be filled with battles and jedi.. once in a while they need to have a fluff kiddy episode and this one fit the bill.

That is true Kenny.  Doesn't mean I can't dislike it. ;)  Its just episodes like that make me seriously question GL's thoughts on making Jar-Jar.....

And I have to agree with Moyer, my attention was really starting to wander after a bit.  Heck, I had to rewind a bit because I forgot what happened.

But alas, I digress.  It is a kiddy show and I have to accept that.

I watched it, and this was probably my least favorite episode so far, but like Kenny mentioned, this was probably more meant for the Kids, then us grups. It was nice to see C3P0, and I did like how Jar Jar kept getting his name wrong. The scenes where Jar Jar is pretending/mistaken for a Jedi were humorous as well. I guess this episode wasn't all that bad ;)

Finally got to watching it last night. Not the best show, there were definitely a few too many coincidences and one too many lucky breaks to make it believable. I'm not a Jar Jar hater but they made him a little bit too buffoonish.

Not a bad episode, but definitely not the best.

I laughed at loud when Padme asked 3-PO how the ship was destroyed and she says,"Battle Droids?" "No" "Jar Jar?" and 3-PO syas, "Jar Jar". As silly as Jar Jar was, the other elements of the episode were pretty good.

This was probably my kids' favorite episode.  They've loved every episode, but Jar Jar and the humor really worked for them.

Obviously, online reaction has been poor to this episode.  I don't believe GL is so deaf to his audience that he anticipated anything else.  This episode wasn't for us grups.  From my observation, the target audience loved this episode, as they have the whole series.

Complaining about a Jar Jar episode because it's goofy is like complaining about a musical because it has songs.  No one says you have to like musicals, but you know going in what you're going to get.

I didn't expect to like it either, I'm not a Jar Jar fan but I don't hate him either. I guess you can say I'm indifferent to the character.  But the episode was good and Jar Jar wasn't that bad. And I thought they were making fun of Jar Jar through 3PO, which I found entertaining. I love C3P0 and I know a lot of fans (particularly men) hate him— it was interesting to see the two most criticized characters in the same episode together.

Aside from George's fascination with comics and cartoons, the whole reason this series is animated is to attract a younger audience. I introduced my four-year-old niece, Karlee, to Star Wars A New Hope a few months ago and the only thing she was really mesmerized by were the lightsabers, which she called "shiny, glowy swords" and R2. She was bored until I popped in The Phantom Menace. She loved Jar Jar which made me shiver. But the plus is  now she's watching the Clone Wars Cartoon. Her interest in Star Wars would have died with ANH if I hadn't introduced her to Jar Jar Binks and bought her two plastic lightsabers to beat me with while she watched Episode I.

Anakin voiced by Matt Lanter
Padme' voiced by Catherine Taber
Ahsoka voiced by Ashley Eckstein
Obi-Wan voiced by James Arnold Taylor

I also liked his relationship with his previous Padawan, having to always remind him to control his powers and anger. Great little example of that was when they both stood behind the chair they thought Gunray was in. Fisto reached out to turn it around but the Mon Cal used the Force to spin it. Fisto gave him a quick look of disapproval. Also, I thought the medical droid sounded like Robert Picardo!

Interesting that there had been a lot of sepcualtion and conjecture over on The ForceCast about how Anakin and Dooku, as per Episode III, had never met and how they were going to keep them apart for 100+ episodes of The Clone Wars. Well, now they not only have met, but according to the previews, they have to work together to escape! I'm fine with that little ret-con and thought it was a very good epsiode, although the sarcasm dialogue get's a little excessive sometimes.

Here's the latest on TCW in Canada from theforce.net. It hasn't been on for a looong time here and it turns out it's just been on a much longer holiday hiatus.

The Clone Wars Series In Canada Update

Posted By Mike on January 6, 2009

A number of our Canadian friends had sent over some concerned e-mails regarding the status of The Clone Wars on Canadian television. New episodes had ceased to air and they very simply want their TCW fix! Who can blame them? Fear not as The Clone Wars in Canada simply went on it's holiday hiatus much like it did here in the U.S.. For our friends to the north, the hiatus fell after the airing of "Bombad Jedi" as opposed to "Lair of Grievous" in the states.

Double checked with Lucasfilm just to be sure and got the following response:

"The next episode, "Cloak of Darkness," will air Feb. 8 on CTV and Feb. 13 on Space. Thanks for checking on it!"

No, thank you good sir for the answer we were hoping to hear! Hope this eases the minds of some fans out there. New episodes are on the way sooner than later!

That good to hear it is coming back, but I think the big delay is going to hurt them. A lot of people will find other places to see the episodes. But it is nice to hear they will be back regardless

This series continues to ROCK!!! just watched last Friday's episode again this morning before work.. what a great way to start my day. The first five minutes of that episode are amazing. This is by far my favorite TV series on right now.

What do you guys think of the continuity issues? The folks over on the Star Wars Fanworks boards are up in arms over issues regarding characters and their locations during key battles and what not. I don't really care about them myself... I had no idea where anyone was before the cartoon anyway.

I enjoyed the last episode. Ahsoka gets on my nerves from time to time. For a padawan she sure smarts off a lot and no one really puts her in her place.   :ohwell

The action scenes are always top notch. I love the duels. Consequently my four-year-old niece, Karlee, loves them as well. I introduced her to Star Wars this past summer. My sister told me she's been asking for Star Wars action figures. In the words of Palpatine: "Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design."  ;D

As a BIG EU fan there are definitely a lot of issues with continuity and this show. Honestly, it doesn't bug me a huge amount. I rationalize it as this: Clone Wars, EU books and even the movies are a retelling of events that happened, like history.

Our own history is rife with contradictions, inaccuracies, and subjective points of view. Why would the history of the Star Wars (or Star Trek for that matter) universe be any different?
Title: Re: The Clone Wars - TV Series
Post by: Rico on January 19, 2009, 10:49:35 AM
I don't find the continuity that much of a problem.  If it does bug you then this show will never work for you.  It's fun to just see some new Star Wars action on TV.  I like that we get to see more of the other Jedi like Aayla Secura (although her voice was not what I expected - was that a French accent or what?).
Title: Re: The Clone Wars - TV Series
Post by: Geekyfanboy on January 19, 2009, 11:03:04 AM
I don't know much about the EU so I'm loving this. I liked Secura's voice, It's cool to see that not everyone has an American accent in the SW Universe... btw it did sound French.
Title: Re: The Clone Wars - TV Series
Post by: Jen on January 19, 2009, 11:24:02 AM
The continuity issues don't bother me at all... I know very little about the Clone Wars era of the EU. I liked her accent as well. At first it sounded South American, then towards the end it did sound French. :D
Title: Re: The Clone Wars - TV Series
Post by: Rico on January 19, 2009, 11:56:07 AM
The thing about her accent that kind of was weird for me is I know the actress that played her in the movies doesn't sound like that - but of course I don't think she had any lines in the films.
Title: Re: The Clone Wars - TV Series
Post by: Bryancd on January 19, 2009, 12:29:14 PM
I love the EU, but read only the books and did not read a few of the Clone Wars era books. I also do not read any of the comics, so Clone Wars era continuity is not on my radar either. Ayla never had any lines and even though Amy Allen is American, I liked the French accent they gave her.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars "A Galaxy Divided" on DVD

First Volume of Action-Packed Episodes Brings Hit Cartoon Network Series to DVD for the First Time

Four of the most popular episodes from the hit animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will come to DVD from Warner Home Video and Lucasfilm Ltd. on Tuesday, March 24. The release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars "A Galaxy Divided" marks the very first time the weekly adventures from Lucasfilm Animation have been available on the format.

The hit weekly animated series debuted this fall on Cartoon Network. It's the first TV series from Lucasfilm Animation that chronicles the adventures of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Ahsoka Tano and other favorite Star Wars characters as they struggle against the dark side during the divisive, action-packed Clone Wars.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars "A Galaxy Divided" ($19.98, SRP) showcases four exciting episodes: "Ambush," featuring a showdown between Jedi Master Yoda and the villainous Asajj Ventress; and the three-episode "Malevolence" story -- "Rising Malevolence," "Shadow of Malevolence" and "Destroy Malevolence." In the "Malevolence" episodes, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano and Obi-Wan Kenobi lead a mission to find and destroy a massive warship that is under the command of General Grievous.

"As its incredibly successful run on Cartoon Network has shown, Star Wars: The Clone Wars appeals to a very wide, very loyal audience that spans a wide range," said Doug Yates, vice president of marketing, distribution and online at Lucasfilm Ltd. "Many kids and parents have told us they want to own their favorite episodes right away, which is why we are releasing this compilation as well as a second four-episode compilation this summer."

Meanwhile, for fans eager to own the entire first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Lucasfilm is in the midst of producing a multi-disc boxed set that is expected to debut later in 2009. Full details of the first-season DVD boxed set, which is also planned to mark the first Blu-Ray appearance of the series, will be announced later this year. The collection will include substantial bonus material that is currently in production at Lucasfilm, including explorations of the behind-the-scenes creation of the hit series.

"Longtime Star Wars fans are eager for a collection that offers great depth and has detailed bonus materials," Yates said. "We hope our DVD releases will offer something to please everyone, just as the first season of the series has done week after week."

Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation & Sports Marketing, said, "We're excited to begin offering this exhilarating TV series to its legion of loyal fans, as well as to an all-new generation who have helped make it such a success on Cartoon Network. Star Wars: The Clone Wars has brought new excitement to the galaxy far, far away, with its thrilling look into untold stories, and we know fans will enjoy these action-packed adventures."

Star Wars: The Clone Wars debuted on Cartoon Network in the U.S. on Oct. 3. The series also airs on broadcast networks in more than 50 different countries worldwide, and is soon to debut on Cartoon Network International around the globe.

Takei Lends Voice to "Clone Wars"
January 21, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV

Actor George Takei will lend his voice talent on this Friday's episode of "Star Wars: Clone Wars," according to Newsarama.

Takei, who is best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu on "Star Trek" will provide the voice for a new villian, Lok Durd.  Takei has done extensive voiceover work the past several years, including projects like "Mulan," "Batman Beyond" and "Kim Possible."

Takei's appearance in "Clone Wars" makes the first time an actor from classic "Trek" has worked in both "Star" universes.

"I don't consider it jumping ship," says Takei. "The Star Trek philosophy is to embrace the diversity of the universe, and Star Wars is part of that diversity. I also think Star Trek and Star Wars are related beyond both having the word "Star."

Not that he doesn't acknowledge differences, either.

"'Star Trek' is science fiction," said Takei. "'Star Wars' is science fantasy. Based on the episodes I worked on, I think with 'Star Wars: Clone Wars' we're starting to see a merging though. It does deal, philosophically, with some of the issues of the time, which is always something 'Star Trek' was known for. War, Peace, Technology, Humanity, Sacrifice and Courage; these issues. I found that engaging.

"The other thing I found is in doing the 'Star Wars' animation, especially when compared to the 'Star Trek' animation, it was really working as an actor. I was actually working with other actors. When we did the recording (for Clone Wars) they had the entire cast there. So we were able to bounce off of each other. You get a better idea of the characterization that way, the vocal rhythms of the other characters. "

You can hear Takei's voice on this week's "Clone Wars." The episode airs Friday on Cartoon Network.

I'm really trying, I DVR each episode, but I just can't seem to get into this series. I put off watching for so long that they are auto deleted for something that I am only recording so that I can watch it 15 minutes late to get past all the commercials. I really hate to say it, but I think Lucas killed my love for anything outside of the books.

I bought it off Itunes and such and in HD it is amazing!  This series has been very very fun to watch and is the first TV series where I've gone back in the same day and watch it again!!  (Sometimes on my new Ipod 120GB!)

Despite what other forums or podcasts say (and I do listen, such as the Forcecast) about the episodes I still think they are great.  Even through the nitpicking and the holes of the episodes, they are still great to watch.  And to those who say it buggers up the EU, well, sorry, but this is after all G-Canon and we all know that G-Canon overrides EU-Cannon.  :) :)

I'm sorry to hear that Just X and I've been hearing about those complaints lately.  Its kinda sad.  (But its why I bought it off Itunes)

The "Hidden Enemy" was a great episode in my opinion.  For some reason, it was really suspensful to watch.  I have no idea why but maybe its the fact that I didn't realize it was the episode before the Movie in terms of chronological time.....either way, a great episode.

Next one should be interesting.

I can't wait for the rest.

I love the starwars universe, but I just can't get into the Clone Wars as much as I've tried. I would have rather they did it in a different style of animation because I don't like the look of it at all for the show. I think that style should have stayed with Samurai Jack and Dexter's Lab

Could someone please remove the rock off of Meds under which he has been living!

Indeed! A whole 20+ episode series which just finished up last month, in HD on Cartoon Network even. It was brilliant, I really got into it. The movie was released on DVD, which was the first few episodes stuck together and then there is a current release of a trilogy of shows from early in the Season 1.

It's over there. That's it, the third one from the sun...

Look for them on here Meds. Rico had them up in the partner to this thread in the members area. I assume they're still there.

I ordered the first season box set on Blu-Ray but I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the set includes what was released as the movie? Wasn't the movie supposed to be like the first three episodes combined or something like that? Or do I need to but the movie separately? Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to buy the movie Kevin on it's own - as far as I know.  The movie didn't ever get edited back down into episodes.

I have to say it. I really like the Cad Bane character. He's no match for the Jedi, but he sure gives them a run for their money.

I got Season 1 of Clone Wars on Blu-Ray for Christmas. Was watching some episodes last night, really like how they have a featurette beside each episode, gave a bit more insite into their creation. Nice packaging as well with the booklet inside.

I don't think it's that silly. I've only seen a few and have read a majority of the books. I chalk it up to the medium. I can rewatch trek over and over, but I've never had a desire to rewatch TAS

Well I don't think you can compare TAS to Clone Wars, but I understand what you are saying.

I will say that I actually found myself watching and enjoying the second part tonight with the clone troopers
