Never to early! Well, this is pretty early but Sam Witwer is interviewed on this weeks episode of TheForceCast and gives some tantalizing clues about what's to come Season 5. Worth a listen!

It's on tomorrows playlist anyway....but I might be bumping the Forcecast closer to the top now. Cheers Bryan
Ta, mate. :)
That was a pretty cool interview he gave. Gave a lot of insight into the thought process of bringing Maul back. I really dig the fact that the legs are bits of junk that formed by the Dark Side drawing it to Maul, a manifestation of how twisted he was. Cool stuff.
Here's the full trailer for Season 5 that was just released.. looks AMAZING!!!

Yeah. That was great. Seemed very SW-OT, with the tongue in cheek style humor. They need more of that.
Can't wait, but these years between Episode 2 and 3 are starting to feel like M.AS.H.! Just wondering if they have said how many seasons it is going to go.

I believe 5 was the LucasFilm original plan but I bet it goes 6.

It's be great if they worked in more Williams music into the actual series. That bit with Sidious is really underlined solidly with that Imperial Theme.
To quote Lucas Season 5 looks Faster and More Intense. Can't wait
I don't see it going much further than this season. They are pulling it from prime time for this season and when CN does that, a show usually doesn't come back for another season. Maybe they are trying to tie it into their DC power hour, but I'm concerned about the fate of the show after this season.
Well there is going to be a Season Six.. it's already in the works and being shot.
Yeah we will have six seasons. Those are being done right now.
Hey six season isn't much further than 5. When do they hit the syndication magic number?

I'm not sure how that works currently. Is it 5 or 7? I thought that was the issue with the cancelation of Enterprise after just 4 Seasons.
Seasons for syndication (or actually numbers of episodes) I don't think is quite as relevant as it used to be since we have so many others ways to watch this content now. But I remember a number like 100 episodes being a goal to reach - which usually would be about 5 seasons or so.

Right, on both accounts. 100 episodes sounds like the answer. And yeah, you have to wonder how new distribution models have altered that whole landscape.
Awww yeah!!!

I just found out CN is moving Clone Wars to Saturday morning. Anyone know why. I thought it was doing well ratings wise.
Enjoyed the first episode of the new season. Great saber fights!

I think Cartoon Network is trying to have a good Saturday Morning lineup, along with DC Nation. Me and the kids watched 2 hours this AM.
Yeah, Rico, the saber fights were really great. I'm looking forward to this year, they seem to improve this show every season.
Loved it!
Interesting how both Maul and Savage had the green mist escaping from their wounds. Makes me wonder is we will see more Mother Talzin this season. Loved the bit with Palpatine at the end as well.

I'm not sure about the way Savage and Maul were used in this episode. I loved them on screen. How evil and dark they are. Especially at the beginning when attacking that vessel. How twisted Maul is...but he kept talking about a plan. I was expecting some kind of intricate and dastardly plot to shake up the whole galaxy...Was that all his plan was? Kill the leader of some pirates and become the pirate king? It just seems a little....small. I understand that they have to start somewhere. But I would like to see some really evil and twisted revenge from the brothers. The targeting and attacking of family and friends of all who have harmed them. The wiping out of whole small communities who stand in their way. Stuff to shake up the whole galaxy and get everyone's attention. That would start bringing people out of the woodwork wanting to stand with them. Okay, maybe some of that isn't appropriate for a kids cartoon, but you see where I'm coming from, right?
Also, I'm not interested in seeing the pair running for their lives, losing limbs from a small group of pirates with blasters. I want to see them turn like savage animals and wipe out any opposition. They are better than that- running like mere cowards. Although, I do understand that it was Kenobi they were running from more than the pirates...but it just didn't make them look as badass as they should be looking. The whole episode just seemed to show them as a bit of a directionless odd couple rather than a threatening force...
Also, Maul seems focused on Kenobi. I always figured that he would be equally focused on his former Master for leaving him to rot. Maybe that will come later...
Just as an after thought. I find I'm getting ever so slightly irritated by the number of droids capable of moving around like humans. The guard droids at the beginning of this episode were the worst. They haven't even got decent voice units and still sound robotic, but they crept and tippy-toed around in a very organic manner. It's only a little thing, but it really took me out of the moment.
My overall opinion is that it is not one of the best episodes of Clone Wars. But not one of the worst either. I still enjoyed it. Course I did, it's Star Wars :)
I agree about that closing shot though....how amazingly chilling!?
I think a lot of what you are asking for will be coming later in the season by just a single viewing of the Season 5 trailer. Go back and watch it again, there is a lot of Maul/Svage stuff yet to come and it looks hardcore. I really enjoyed this weeks episode as well. Clearly the past one is part of a multi story arc and I was willing to let it build slowly knowing I should watch it with that context in mind. As such I think they built up their story and character interactions well and look forward to seeing how that dynamic unfolds.
I really enjoyed the whole "youngling" storyline that just finished... may be one of my favorite storylines from all the seasons.
Me too, the last episode was terrific!
Yes, this storyline was very engaging, good characters among the Jedi, and anything with Hondo I love.
Yeah, that was a fun story line. It used Ahsoka well and it was cool to see a Wookiee Jedi youngling too.
I just thought that last episode was SO great. The action was amazing, the characters really awesome, I was just watching thinking this is great STAR WARS. And I wasn;t a huge fan of the first two episodes, either.

Today's episode was fantastic. Not been a huge fan of bringing Maul back, but this episode really rocked!

That episode was the bet Star Wars I have seen since 1983.
I completely agree. I was thinking while watching it "THIS is what I thought the prequels would be like." Awesome. Sidious and Maul, AWESOME. Madalorians jet pack fightin', AWESOME.
Oh, I have to mention Katee was in this episode too voicing Bo Katan. Just sayin'. :biggrin
Yes, she was. Her character was featured in a bunch of episodes and this arc really let her shine and we finally got to see her face!
:jawdrop Oh...My...God.

This season has been up and down.. I totally loved the Young Jedi story.. and the Maul and Mandalorians story..I mean the lightsaber battle between Maul, Savage and Sidious was EPIC!!! But this final story arc.. Ahsoka story is suppose to a game changer.. can't wait to see how this season ends.
Do you think will find out the fate of Ahsoka?
I don't think we'll see her fate....but I think she could now be forced out of the Jedi Order...and Anakin will probably find something else to keep secret from his Masters...

Yes, we will, and she will survive...and be GOLD to Disney int he future. They finally have a female STAR WARS character who is a hit with young girls.

Well these episodes were finished a year and a half ago.. well before the Disney purchase.

Yeah, plus unfortunately these shows have to line up with Episode 3 somehow...almost wish they didn't have to. The Mando/Maul arc was the best Star Wars in a long time.

Yeah, and LucasFilm finally had a female character young girls love. No way she dies, even more so now, and they are in the middle of a sixth season in production. Dave Filoni doesn't need her to die to make his narrative. As adults, we think having her die would be compelling for Anakin moving into EpIII but at this point, based on their relationship in the show and fan support, it would be going too far.
RebelForce Radio now reporting they are hearing CLONE WARS is in jeopardy of being canceled after this season despite Season 6 already deep in production. I would have to assume Filoni and crew knew this could be a possibility and created this arc to potentially wrap the series up if that edict came down as they have been aware of the acquisition since last year. I hope if they do cancel they still find a way to release Season 6 on DVD or something. :(
Here's more good news. Sounds like they have been waiting until the CN contract was up, which will be this Saturday, before announcing where new CW content would be.

So what did you guys think of the finale of season five??
Still haven't watched it yet, although I know how it ends. :)
I think this ending was manufactured in case the series wasn't picked up by Disney. Assuming they finish production of Season 6 and find a way to distribute it, she'll be back.
I enjoyed the finale...
I thought Ahsoka's decision was the right one to make at the end. I liked Anakin dealing with Ventress (a character I would love to see more of). It did seem obvious to me that Barriss Offee was the one behind things. She led Ahsoka into that trap with the evidence. Still, a good ending to an interesting arc.
I have to admit watching the end made me a little verklepmt!
Durnit, I'm partway through season 4 and now I want to hurry and get up to date! Gotta see what this is all about.
Well, Is it just me or does it seem that the more screen time that the Jedi get, the more you understand how they were wiped out? I mean they seem so daft and incompetent the more they are on screen. After that episode I found myself glad that the Jedi fell and the temple burned.

Yeah, the council anyway. Ineffectual, arrogant, and easily led to the wrong conclusions.

Well isn't that the point? That's what happened by ROTS, the Jedi were so inwardly focused they couldn't see what was right in front of them.
Finally, finally getting this over here. The first five episode arc aired every day last week (school holidays still) with ep 6 coming on Wednesday. Not heavily Jedi based but an enjoyable mini-arc.
I enjoyed it and so did the kids.
(Cool, my iPad auto-capitalises the word Jedi :))
