Hard to believe that it's been three years since I had this idea and started the "Treks in Sci-Fi" podcast.  I've made such good friends because of it on the forums, and via emails, etc.  I hope to continue to improve and bring you all much more adventure and fun in the coming year - or years.  And also, the next several months are going to be very exciting as we get closer to the new movie coming in May, 2009!  So - I think it's time to celebrate and keep on Trekking!

Rico, three years is an amazing feat for an privately funded podcast, three years shows an amazing dedication of your time. It shows your passion for all of the greatest things Sci-fi has to offer us, and you should be very proud you have come this far. But the best thing you should be proud of, is your ability to share it with everyone. You arent afraid to let others contribute in some way, to let others "hijack" your podcast every now and then.

Treks In Sci fi is truly special, and I wish I heard about it sooner so I could have been there to share all of the memories with you all. But I have to say my favorite thing about this whole set up Rico... Is the fact that you said your mission on your very first podcast, and three years later you have kept that commitment. Week after week you bring QUALITY to us, and for that, we can never thank you enough. So today, (Preferabbly after the podcast) crack open a nice cold one and reflect. Great job!

:cheers
:happybday Treks in Sci Fi!

Rico... Congratulations on three years of AWESOME podcasting. You know I've been here since the very first beta cast and I would have never guessed what this would have turned into three years later. I have enjoyed each and everyone of your podcasts but what has effected my life more are the forums. I think I was the sixth person to sign up when you started these forums and ever since they have been an important part of my everyday life. I have made some very close and life long friends on these forums and it's all thanks to you Rico.. for having a cool idea about doing a podcast about sci fi/trek stuff.

Thank you Rico for the wonderful three years and here's to :cheers many more years of Treks in Sci Fi

Three years of geeky goodness!
Thanks for keeping the sci-fi universe alive

Yeah, thanks Rico.

Fo you it's three years but I've just about listened to the lot in 3 months (I'm going to have serious withdrawal when I sync up with 'real time!)

Thanks for some excellent and engaging shows, both factual and entertaining! Looking forward to the 4th celebration...

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Trekkygeek

Hi there Rico, I just wanted to add my voice to the collective.

I remember back in the early part of 2006 when I was searching for Star Trek websites and I came across this website that had a picture of a of some Geek looking back at me giving me the Vulcan salute and the LCARS background. I only glanced at the site thinking that this bloke was far too geeky for me.  ;)

Then later in the year, I discovered this media called Podcasting, here you could listen to "Internet Radio" shows about your favourite subjects. I did a search on Itunes and Lo and behold this same geeky bloke appeared on my screen. Well this time it was almost like an epiphany, I wasn't going to just avoid it again. So I downloaded all the available back catalogue and over the next few weeks I listened to the lot, in my Transit van at work and I loved every bloody minute of it. The thing I remember most was this strange ethereal voice in the yonder calling himself "Kenny from California". I realised I wanted to be part of this whole commenting on shows and being part of a thing called Forums.

So when I had finally caught up with the most recent show, (I think it was around show 75), I decided to join this thing called the Forums. Before this point I didn't even know what forums were. So I joined up in October 2006 and have since really enjoyed the camaraderie that happens at this great place with even better people.

I'm afraid I don't spend as long on here as I would like, my internet time is limited (If I worked in an office, I would forever be abusing the tinternet and letting you guys know what I thought on a particular subject), and under 700 posts in 2 years is bugger all, but I want you all to know that I really enjoy being here and I will try to be around more often.

So thank you Rico for these past 3 years of entertainment and also thank you for introducing me to podcasts in a serious way, on another thread I listed all the podcasts I listen to and It is far too many to list here, but I can genuinely say that it's down to this show and this forums that podcasts now play a major part in my working week.

And It's all thanks to some Geeky Guy staring back at me with the Vulcan Salute.
Thanks again mate.

Tim.
