Actress Katrina Bowden was born Wyckoff, New Jersey.  Last year she was voted the “Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire magazine for 2011.  Her genre related work includes:  ”Psych”, “The Shortcut”, “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil”, “Pretend Time”, “I’m Such a Nerd” (short), and the upcoming “Piranha 3DD”.  She also plays Cerie on the very funny “30 Rock.”  I look forward to seeing more from this lovely and talented young woman.

Actor Jeremy Renner was born Modesto, California.  He only really got into acting once in college and his career has taken off in the last few years.  Jeremy’s genre related work includes:  ”Deadly Games”, “Strange Luck”, “A Nightmare Come True”, “The Net”, “Angel”, “Thor”, “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”, and this coming summer’s “Avenger’s” film.  I think this actor’s career is only going to continue to grow and do even better over the next several years.

Actress Anna Wood has not done a lot of genre work yet and is a relative unknown.  But I think she might be a rising star of the future.  Her main genre work is in the currently in release film called, “Chronicle.”  I hope we get the chance to see much more of this lovely and talented young woman in the future.

Actress Alison Pill was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  She’s worked on stage and in TV & film and has been also nominated for a Tony award.  Here genre related work includes:  ”PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal”, “Poltergeist: The Legacy”, “Redwall”, “The Dinosaur Hunter”, “The Other Me”, “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, “Pillars of Earth”, and others.  I look forward to more work from this gifted performer.

A special, weekend picture for all of you to help celebrate the big Superbowl game.  We have actress Megan Fox to cheer on the teams in an outfit from the film, “Jennifer’s Body.”  She has been featured in this blog a couple times before and is probably best known for appearing in the first two “Transformer” films.  I hope we get to see the lovely Megan in another genre film very soon.

Actress Aisha Tyler was born in San Francisco, California.  She graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Political Science.  Besides acting, Aisha has done a lot of stand up comedy over the years.  Her genre related work includes roles in:  ”The Pretender”, “The Santa Clause 2″, “24″, “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause”, “Balls of Fury”, “Bedtime Stories”, “Halo: Reach” and “Archer.”  I look forward to more from this gifted and lovely lady.

A little tribute to two of the lovely ladies on the hit comedy, “The Big Bang Theory.” In the wedding dress is Bernadette (played by Melissa Rauch) and on the right is Penny (played of course by Kaley Cuoco).  Both of these women are great at comedy and awesome on this series each week.

Actress Meghan Ory was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.  She was a recipient of the Fine Arts Award for Acting from the Royal Oak School in 1996.  Her many genre related roles include work in:  ”The Darklings”, “The Crow: Stairway to Heaven”, “The Outer Limits”, “Dark Angel”, “Vampire High”, “Smallville”, “Decoys”, “Nightmare”, “Painkiller Jane”, “Flash Gordon”, “Sanctuary”, “Supernatural”, and currently she plays Ruby (and Red Riding Hood) on the ABC series, “Once Upon a Time.”  I hope we continue to see more of this lovely and busy woman in many projects to come.

For today, just a great piece of art from artist Dennis Budd of Counselor Deanna Troi from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”  Troi was played by the lovely Marina Sirtis for seven seasons on TNG.  And don’t forget, the TNG Blu-Ray sampler disc is out this week for all of us to finally see TNG in hidef!
