The Marvel comic book character of the Dazzler first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #130 in February, 1980.  Alison Blair (or the Dazzler) is a mutant with the ability to convert sound into various form of light at different intensities.  The character has been a solo hero much of the time and also part of teams like the X-Men and Excalibur.  An interesting and fun character from the Marvel lineup.
