Actress Thandie Newton was born as Thandiwe Ajdewa Newton in London, England.  She spent some time growing up in Zambia but later moved back to the UK and grew up mainly in Cornwall.  She got a degree in anthropology but eventually settled into an acting career.  Her genre related credits include:  “Interview with the Vampire”, “Mission: Impossible II”, “The Chronicles of Riddick”, and the upcoming “2012.”  She loved the character of Ripley in the “Alien” movies so she named her daughter after her.  I look forward to seeing more of this lovely and talented woman in more genre projects to come.
