The Marvel comic book character of the Black Cat made her first appearance in “The Amazing Spider-Man” # 194 back in 1979.  She was originally created as a foil for Spider-Woman but ended up more involved with Spider-Man as an enemy and sometimes a partner.  She has mainly been a thief and her powers were enhanced at one point but now are more mechanical and athletic in nature.  Felicia Hardy (the Black Cat) actually seems to be more on the side of good than bad in comics over the years and is always fun to see in action.
