Australian actress Miranda Otto was born in Queensland, Australia.  She has studied ballet, and gave up the idea of a career in medicine before she turned to acting full time.  To genre fans she is probably best known for playing Eowyn in the second and third “Lord of the Rings” films (for which she trained in sword fighting and horseback riding for many months).  Other genre credits of her’s include:  “The 13th Floor”, “What Lies Beneath”, “War of the Worlds”, and others.  She is married and has one child now.  I wish her continued success.
