Hunk Tom Welling was born in New York but grew up mainly in Michigan where he graduated from high school before going into modeling.  Eventually Tom moved towards acting and landed the role of Clark Kent on the long running TV series, “Smallville.”  He actually turned down the part twice before finally accepting it, suspecting it would be a hit (which begins season 8 later this month).  He has only done a few movies like “The Fog” recently.  Tom is married and even helped a woman being mugged by fighting off her attackers.  I personally hope Tom gets a chance to put on the famous red and blue suit before “Smallville” ends its long run.
