Playing Uhura on the original “Star Trek” series, Nichelle Nichols was not only a babe but paved the way for African American women on television and in entertainment.  She even shared the first on screen interracial kiss with William Shatner on the show.  Recently she has been seen on the cool TV show, “Heroes.”
